Ty good idea .This helped me alot.Sometimes artists forget this and struggle at their first drawings of the day including myself. From nowon I take some time to warm up and make my posesketches I prolly need to use during my arts for that day.

I feel like this is a better warm up once you understand more anatomy. There's times I'll finish putting in the gesture of the body and the Torso, having over a minute to spare, making me hungry to add more to what I have. Thank you for the suggestion, as I do this an hour a day as soon as I wake up!

I finally have time to draw figures. I was heading to the torso because the head did not feel right, the torso leads to the hips so in life drawing, I will take your advice. I think it was the best advice. Thank you much.

I am pretty damn great at life drawing but you said something I never thought about before, about the placement of the rib cage then everything falls into place. I always just went into drawing and worked it that way but never really started with the torso before. At least not most of the time. I am gonna keep that in my mind forever now thank you sir. Very unusual to start with the torso, but extremely effective for what you do. I noticed many professional artists don't start with the head, but the most defining feature in the pose/piece they are doing.

Check out a book called Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth. The logic is pretty simple. The major masses determine the positioning of the rest of the body. The primary mass as hogarth defines it is the torso, followed by the pelvis, followed by the legs, followed by the arms and then the head. I'm not happy with all of Hogarth's instructional books, but its pretty good.

Often it could be that your brush have the wrong setting. In this case I think it could be that the spacing of your brush is too high. You can edit this under; Window > Brush; Brush Tip Shape (on the left side of the Brush window) and your spacing thicked, but make it 1%

there are alternatives to wacom, though each has its faults, some are good enough artists have replaced their cintiqs with them. the difference is usually about 1/2 wacom price or lower, with the quality difference being negligible to the point that even they were equal price you may still look at alternative. i know at least with UC Logic digitizers, if im not mislead, are good to the point that wacom can be considered a lifestyle product.

Never too late. I started late in my life to get into drawing, it's all good. Just know that, no matter where you start, in the end you're gonna run into the same challenges that everyone else is gonna run into. Chances are, you'll be more surprised how much difficulty pros have with certain obstacles.. If you work hard every day, I'd say in about 5 years you'll be at a very high level. Good luck and don't quit!
