Moses was given a task from birth. His destiny was set. Moses was unsure of himself and stopped his journey. His mission is to open the people so that they see the truth and work for God in that truth. God reminds Moses by having his wife circumcise his son. To be un circumcised is to be covered. Shrouded in ignorance and hidden. We nolonger understand who we are and why we are here. Moses was to wake up the people to the truth. Moses was delaying his mission because he feared not being upto the task. He disconnected from God and went within himself. He lost faith in his abilities but God is his abilities. Sin is self thought without God. God has to connect through freedom of will. He cannot force himself into Moses because then he would be God himself in Mosses body. That would kill him. Moses has to accept God and open his soul to him so that his soul can be large enough to work through him without overwhelming him.

Moses was going before God while in the flesh. In the old covenant circumcision was necessary. Exodus 4: 24 kjv Circumcision is that of the heart in the spirit, and not of the letter, whose praise is not of men but of God. Romans 2:29 kjv

The offspring of Abraham was to be circumcised 8 days after birth. Moses had 2 Levite parents of faith who hid him from pharaoh for 3 months before he was placed in a basket on the Nile River. Being as Moses’s parents were of faith, I imagine they circumcised their son 8 days after his birth. The law Moses broke was that he had not circumcised his son. God had just told Moses that He would kill pharaoh’s firstborn son if he didn’t obey God’s command to let His people go. Moses in the meantime had disobeyed God’s command of circumcising his own son, his firstborn in this case. James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. 1 Timothy 3:1-7 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. So, he began to influence man's decision from then on. Abraham had Ishmael outside of God's will Genesis 15. He thought God would reject Abraham, but God only disciplined him with the sign of circumcision Genesis 16, as a deterrent for Abraham not to think of messing up again before the seed if promise is born, and renewed His covenant in Genesis 17. Since then, satan began to include his own seed to confuse God into blessing it, for if God does destroy it, man wouldn't know which seed was which, so satan followed the first born blessing route. He added Esau with Jacob, and God declared He hated Esau, and loved Jacob, Obadiah, for clarification. Satan messed with Joseph, who was the firstborn of Jacob from his favorite wife, Rachel, and influenced her to steal her father's idols, which would have been a snare, had she succeeded in getting to Bethel with the family, she would have set it up and it would have become a confusion when serving the God of their Fathers, so she was permitted to die, and prophesied about the coming Seed, who would be a suffering Messiah- Benoni, but Jacob changed it to Benjamin, the Son of God's right hand, or the anointed One! God chose Judah, by grace 1 Chronicles 5:1-2, and satan began to mess with him through his sons. They didn't want to have children, and God dealt with them, and eventually Tamar had a seed with Judah Pharez, but satan added his own- Zerah. It went on till Moses, when satan put it in Pharaoh to kill all children at the age he believed the Seed would be at that time. He put his seed in Absalom, who was described as perfect as him 2 Samuel 18:, and he succeeded in getting David out of his throne on earthly Mount Zion, which was a replica of heavenly Mount Zion, until he was killed, by hanging on a tree, accursed, with 3 javelins struck his heart,12 Samuel 18:9-17, his source of pride 2 Samuel 14:25-26; Ezekiel 28:17, and instead of the sides of the North, he was cast down and buried on the sides of the pit as prophesied 2 Samuel 18:17; Isaiah 14:15; Luke 10:18-19. Since our Lord decided to redeem man, He took on the nature of man: the promised Seed of Abraham Hebrews 2:16-18. Satan did the same when Jesus was born, because he didn't know who the seed would be, thus, he made Herod to kill all babies around His age. Now, he sees Jesus baptized, heaven opens and everyone hears the voice of God, validating, confirming Him as His Only Begotten Son , that they must hear and listen to! Israel was supposed to be 400 years in Egypt. Moses acted 10 years less, by his wisdom and power, and had to flee to Midian for 40 years. He returned when He had met with God and learned to be obedient to God, no matter how improbable or unrealistic, or unreasonable it may look: putting hand in his bosom, bringing it out, it became lepperous, bringing it out, it became clean. Casting his rod on the ground, it became a snake, picking it up- by the tail?, it became a rod again. So, he basically just had to do what God commanded and leave the consequences to God. So Israel now had to leave Egypt after 430 years. God has revealed the day, but not the hour, baring anything or anyone like Moses, extending or hindering the work of God, all in all, God still reserves the right to do what He pleases whenever He pleases. He lives in eternity, and only interacts with man in time. He loves Israel so much as not to honor the prayer of Daniel when it was time to get them out of Babylon at 69 week years, going unto the 70th, but instead, opened up over 2000 years of dispensation of grace, so as many Jews and gentiles could be saved, who would not necessarily be worthy, had He permitted them to return to the promised land. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace." So I don't think God was trying to kill Moses. I believe he was going to kill Moses and Zipporah's first born son. Here's why. Circumcision: Genesis 15, God made a covenant with Abraham. Genesis 16, Abraham went in to Hagar, the Egyptian. Genesis 17, God disciplined Abraham with the covenant of circumcision, so he doesn't go with any other woman, because the promised Seed was between him and Sarah only! Genesis 26, Abraham married Keturah after the death of Sarah, but sent them far away from the promised land, towards the East. He must have told them the story of the promised Seed, and the stars and sand on the sea shore. They must have told this story from generations to generations, until the kings of the east went with presents,,guided by the Star, to bow down and worship the promised Seed- yet being a Child. Moses was of the Seed of Abraham, thus, he must be identified with the people of God, who are under the exclusive covenant of God and His choses Seed, which began from Genesis 3:15, and ended in the eventual birth of Jesus Christ. This was making a clear demarcation between the Seed of the woman, and the seed of the serpent, which has been trying to mix since Ishmeal-Esau-Zerah-Absalom-Judas/Barabbas, as opposed to Isaac- Pharez- David--Jesus Christ.

Moses and Jethro (Hobab, Reuel) Exodus 18. Jethro, Moses' father-in law, wasn't dealing with Moses with a true heart. He feigned his love and worship of his God. He knew that Moses had fled from Egypt and came to his land, his home as a fugitive, wanted for murder. As a chief and a pagan priest of his people, he, I believe reluctantly accepted Moses as his son in law, because I also believe, that he wasn't really accepted in the family. When he met his wife, Zipporah, she and her sisters were herding the flock, but now, he was relegated to being the person to keep the flocks, way out in the wilderness, and far away from his wife and children. What could have happened to him? I believe the father in law looked down on him and treated him with disdain, so much so, Moses had a bad relationship with his wife and children. God met with him in the backs of the wilderness, alone and subdued. He used to be a prince, and a man of great authority, but now, this scene couldn't have been so far from who he used to be. This was a great insult to him, and God met with him when he was at his lowest. He couldn't even trust himself to be able to do what God had asked of him. Steven, in Acts 7:22, describes Moses as "learned in all wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and deeds". But now, in Exodus 4:10, he suddenly told God "I"m not eloquent...and slow of speech, and slow of tongue "? What on earth happened to him all this while, living with Jethro, or Hobab, as he was also referred to? After Moses got the children of Israel out of Egypt, suddenly, his father in law grew a conscience, because Moses now holds a high office- even higher than his! So, he came to him by flatteries, supposedly bringing his wife and children to him, and even his wife cursed him and called him a bloody husband! Exodus 4:25. After that, we never heard anything about her, but later, his sons became the priests of God. Numbers 10. Moses still was afraid of Jethro, in the obsequious way he deals with him, as if he were his superior! Moses then stopped listening to God, and only sought advice from Jethro. God had given him a sign on how to move and hiw to stop and camp: He would give the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, to give coverage, light and direction. But since the arrival of Jethro in the camp, Moses no longer waited for the cloud to move or rest, in fact, he personally invited and implored Jethro or Hobab, to "come with us...and leave us not", and even promised to divide God's goodness with him- without the Express permission of God, and the cloud was still UPON them by day, it hadn't moved, but they did! Numbers 10:29-36. He literally spoke to the pillar to move before it was ready, and to rest only at HIS command, I think simply to impress Hobab! (The same mistake he made at the Rock). In Numbers 11, Moses became overwhelmed by his task, because He had left God out, and God had kept silent as well! So, no wonder his language changed to "I'M not able to...). vs 14 - God had not at any time told him to do it alone! So he began to complain to God as the people began to complain to him. He even got Miriam and Aaron in trouble because of Hobab's presence, who had brainwashed him to make him think he needed his help, just because he had made an offering and sacrificed to God- when God had not told Him to, thereby, making the Most High God equal to all his pagan idols! Exodus 18:1-27. Moses had hearkened to him and instituted a human government over the people of God! And his 70 elders became the bane in Israel's history Ezekiel chapters 8 and 9, even though God had given Moses His permissive will Numbers 11:16--35, 12: 1-16, but sent a grievous judgment on the whole camp. God is God all by Himself! Jethro, who was the descendant of Keturah, the last wife of Abraham Genesis 25: 1-6, clearly had no portion in the inheritance of Isaac and Jacob, and was what Jesus Christ would call "a thief and a robber", John 10, for wanting to enter the fold of the sheep by another way! The legacy he He left has always been the problem with Israel up till this day. That was one of the reasons God had to send His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to come and seek and save the lost, to redeem them that have been sold under sin, and give eternal life to all who would believe and receive His sacrificial death burial and resurrection, by grace through faith in His love for us, and that He will soon return to redeem His purchased possession! Even so, come Lord Jesus!

This is wrong! You are changing scripture. Jesus lived 500 years after Moses and Joshua. He was not there. Nor was he with Joshua. None of this is in Torah. This whole story is not in the Hebrew Bible and has nothing to do with Moses’ death.

I disagree... Moses was born during very, very tragic times in Egypt, babies were being murdered and tossed into the Nile by decree of Pharaoh... One thing that parents would want or wish for - if we can imagine the reality - is if only their babies would be silent after birth, but we know this is very, very hard and quite impossible; babies make noise, they cry, and Pharaoh's spies would have been on the lookout; circumcision is something that would have set a baby screaming and alerted unwanted attention; however, given that Moses was born during such traumatic times, perhaps his parents put his immediate safety over circumcising him... Add to this the fact that Moses grew up in the house of Pharaoh and would have been treated according to the customs of the Egyptians. So the idea that Moses would have been a grown man and uncircumcised would not be surprising, despite YHWH's Covenant with Abraham regarding circumcision of every male. However, to not be circumcised among the Children of Israel came with a punishment of being ''cut off'' from Israel, which means to be killed for breaking such an important Covenant; hence it makes sense that YHWH sought to put Moses to death, which He could have done before the situation was mediated, but His attempt was a sharp warning to fix the situation - *FAST* - or else. Hence his wife took immediate action to remedy the situation in connection with Moses' son who was also apparently not circumcised, since it had been ignored by Moses to begin with, contrary to God's warning through Abraham.

Circumcision is a cutting ritual began by the Egyptians; can’t help but wonder why the TRUE Creator would want his men to be apart of this insane ritual. Males are born with a foreskin, it has its purpose, why would a loving Father/Creator ask a male to cut off apart of something that he created to be? Is not man made in the image of the Father......

Why do we think if the chosen people are black that does anything for black people it’s doesn’t ( I’m black myself ) , if you don’t repent and believe in the Lord Jesus you will be black and chosen and find yourself in hell. “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. What does it matter ? so if Jesus happens to be white does that lessen the importance His sacrifice he made for you. I don't care what color Jesus is. My understanding is He wasn’t seeking to kill Moses because Moses was circumcised, he was going to kill Moses’ son because he was uncircumcised. But the boys mother came to his aid by circumcising him and throwing the appendage at his (the angels) feet as evidence that boy was now circumcised in compliance with Gods Law. Because it was Moses responsibility to circumcise the boy. But there is no one knows for sure

Circumcision was for Abraham's descendants only, to indicate Canaan was given by God to them. Circumcision has no spiritual value, so it was not imposed on non-Jews (Gentiles). But it's alright if one voluntarily chooses to do it. Moses was to lead Israelites to the promised Land, and God will not allow the sons of Moses to remain uncircumcised.🎉🎉🎉 A biblical Christian must acknowledge that God has deeded Canaan (now Israel) to Jews forever (circumcision is their legal document). Never to Palestinians, latecomer Arabs mostly Islamic. Obama tried to divide Israel, but it was not time for the fulfilment of prophecy. One day when Israel is finally divided, all the nations including America that voted in favor will experience severe judgments. 🔥🔥🔥 It's coming. Israel will be divided. 😭😭😭.
