I guess no matter how jarring the destruction is, after a while you just report what you see and some of the emotional impact is lost. I remember right at the beginning, I think it was MSNBC or CNN were talking to a war front photo journalist of some 20 years experience. She was completely traumatized and definitely had PTSD. As she went though her photos you could see her mental calm breaking and the trauma coming through, it was hard to watch. But even her, after a while with this war, would become hardened.

I saw a video (I dont have the link, wont be hard to find) where the security force was doing an arrest of a collaborator. I got to say, was very professional and by the book. They had received a tip off, done some research but of course had to move quick as the guy was reporting on positions of soldiers around the city, when they arrested him, they had two cars move in quick, hand cuffed him, showed him the paperwork and confiscated his phones (had a burner phone on him). He then he up and admitted it right there (which makes a case pretty easy have to admit) but there was a ton of evidence on the phone. I get the feeling the security forces are pretty used to Russian activity and if you were falsely accused, you would be processed correctly. Ukraine seems to run by the book in all its actions. I imagine this is to keep a good image with its western partners but also the people just seem really well educated and professional.

Actually, the Russians are making slow but steady progress, and have encircled a number of Ukrainian forces in the Donbass. The total right now is approximately 15- 20,000 men. That may grow if the Russians effect a link up and close the entire Donbass- but that's up in the air. The problem here for the Ukrainians is that they're attempting to defend every foot Ukrainian territory- and the lay of the land has aided in the creation of a potentially large pocket. In effect, the Russians have switched to a war of attrition which is slowly winning the war for them.

To say that these were military targets is entirely without foundation and illustrates the war crimes as policy carried out by Russian military forces. Mr Zellinskyy is a brave man. You know if you see him on the battle field someone didn't do their job right or did something wrong. Although sometimes he joins the fight for different reasons.

Excellent, OBVIOUS question. If we'd stopped Putin on Day 1, think of all the lives, infrastructure, buildings, cities, towns that could be saved. AND . . . AND . . . the U.S. would have tens of BILLIONS of dollars to spend on -- the U.S. But because we foolishly, unwisely, timidly waited too long to help and too long to help at a level that's effective now we're playing 'catch up baseball' by shoveling an extra $40 billions dollars to the war effort, after about $30 billion in April.
