If you have a Prestige Classic 600 lying around and you would like to start using it again my advice is to have it strung with multifilament. I had mine restrung after 28 years sitting in the attic, with Velocity MLT / Technifibre Triax @ 22 kgs (48.5 lbs) and it plays terrific!

Kevlar is softer than Graphite. So graphite woven with kevlar makes the racket flex more. Kevlar is strong not particularly stiff. You think that kevlar is making the racket stiffer because kevlar strings are stiffer than all other plastic strings.

I’m using the 2001 Head i.prestige mid (the 89.5 sq inch) and it’s pretty much identical to the Classic 600 - or pro stock pt10. Put it full Alu Power at 50 pounds on both mains and crosses and you’ve got the best racket still today IF YOU CAN HIT SUPER HARD AND FLAT AND GENERATE YOUR OWN SPIN. Thanks for your video too 🤗

Liquidmetal Prestige MP, hit in the sweet spot and has a beautiful flexy feel. Control control, smoothness and flow. Swing is very smooth. Problem with this model is hit near the top of the frame and it sends a horrible jarring effect down your arm.

Rackets like these have been favored by pros because natural gut was the string to go then. the racket and the natural gut are the perfect match for feel/touch, the racket giving the control and the natural gut enhancing the power. Polys are the topstrings nowadays. they give topspin and control. modern even lighter rackets are a good combo with polystrings. (string enhancing more topspin, the racket easier speed, power) Pros and advanced recreational.players (both older generation?)might still love prestiges. it is all a muscle memory thing too. These type of players are used to heavier frames.and if you can handle weight it IS GREAT!!!

Not an old schooler but I still can't drop the prestige for the modern frames. The Vcore comes close but no other racquet gives you the same feedback that the prestige classic does. When you smack the ball in the sweet spot with this frame, the sensation you get is like crack to me.

Why don't you let the other guy give a brief rundown of the history of the Prestige, since you , Harry, always seem to get the facts wrong? You have it backwards. Head measured the outside of the frame, not the inside. So, when they measured 98 sq inches, it was really a 95 sq inch racquet. That, of course, has recently changed. See Harry, I knew you'd fuck it up.

Tennis Spin . Please make an episode about the different technologies in the HEAD rackets. I am interested in knowing if some of the old tech is still in the newer ones or they scratch 1 tech and put in a 1 one..... or they build up from the past (evolve) and they just do not promote the old tech but only the new one. example: do they still use IG frames but do not advertise it.... and just advertise the new Auxetic.

I have two of them (made in Austria PC600) :) I played them for 20 years as an amateur. I had to switch them to modern prestige mid - because of the lack of any vibration damping - it caused so many injuries .... Now I use Head Prestige Mid 360 which apart from different string pattern (16x19) has in my opinion the closest feel to the original PC600. It's sad that this Head prestige mid won't have a continuation ... only bigger frames ... I hope that Head will change their mind ...

I have a "Prestige Tour" mid racquet -- bought it around 94? Played with it for a couple of years, and dusted it off maybe three years ago , after not playing at all for quite some time. Maybe I got oversold by the pro I bought it from, but I certainly never considered myself a top level player -- don't use the Prestige now. I think I'll hit a few with it this afternoon -- I always liked the racquet, never really thought of it as difficult to hit (started with wood back in the late 60s/early 70s).
