String it hit with it. Not the Mona Lisa, it is a racket. 3d print new grommets. It is performance art.

string it! its from the mid 80s. chip hooper endorsed it and actually played with it. i hit with the PRO-50 oversize variant. put it on the RDC you'll be surprised how stiff it is despite the super-thin beam! you might consider soaking the grommets in something like WD40 -- if you can get them out w/o destroying them! maybe use a heat-gun to soften up before pulling them from the racquet.

What a beautiful racquet!!! I had one of those, I regret of giving it away :( Go for it, string it, it is a fun racquet to play with and bring the past to the courts with poly strings (I did about 10 years ago)

String it! Play it! Review it! Use a soft multi and a low tension maybe it won't crack.

Install a few grommets from another scrap racket ;-)

Go for it - string that bad boy at the lowest specified tension with a thin gauge string and have some tubing handy for areas that are prone to breaking.

Use Fittex individual grommets. They come in various sizes. Combine them with other used grommet strips. A lot of work still, but probably less than tubing whole racket 😊

You won't need the grommets if it ends up as wall-art, so you may as well string it now, and play it carefully not to scratch Donnay made dozens if not hundreds of different midsize graphites, so it's not going to be losing loads of money with a tiny scratch on it.

I played that Donnay racket in the 80s. One of my favorites from those days and you should certainly string it up. Maybe you can get the Alpha individual replacement grommets to replace all the originals and do a review on those at the same time.

Remove all the grommets and tube everything. It'll be a lot of work but maybe the best solution here ...

I wonder if soaking the grommets in water might help. Have they dried out? Talk to a polymer chemist for advice.

Silicon grease might help, but old polymer only gets more brittle.

No one cares about these topics you are putting out lately. The reason I subscribed to this channel years ago was for the current gear honest reviews, best of string types yearly compilations, and overall real life tennis knowledge. Would like to see a reset to the channel beginning frame of thought

You know there're no new rackets until AO next year right? There's not enough gears to do reviews everyday. I enjoy the variety of contents, especially the racket journy series. You can alway unsubscribe. There's no need to change

I enjoy hearing about these old rackets. If i see one in a thrift shop I’ll know whether or not it’s worth buying as a backup. Also it’s better for the environment to make use of existing equipment.
