Hey Chad, I really appreciate your ministry. I have a question maybe you could answer: Why did Jesus die at Passover instead of on The Day of Atonement?

Thanks! As a pilgrimage festival, Passover brought multitudes to Jerusalem. The presence of so many people in the city meant the presence of many witnesses to Jesus' Palm Sunday entrance and his crucifixion. More importantly, Jesus came as the Passover lamb who ushered in the new exodus, and who gave us the Supper, which fulfills and transcends Passover. So, while Yom Kippur was important background for the Messiah, Passover combined many more promises.
