It's true we want to see the best darts, but I can't help but feel that watching ordinary people get a chance is better than watching the same 20 pros playing over and over again.

Darts is bias toward people of 6ft tall. The center of a dartboard is set at 5'8" (1.73 meters) from the floor, which is considered eye-level for someone around 6 feet tall. Though the average height of a professional darts player is around 5'9" (1.75 meters). As being 5'5" I have an disadvantage. Maybe Darters should have Disco platform shoes while taller people have s bit of the legs chopped off. The last bit I guess will not be implemented for obvious reasons.

So this is about improving lucky scores If you look deeply into rhe history of the game, darts was legally proven to be a game of skill in a London courtroom At that time games of chance were illegal in pubs The case was proven by the landlord throwing at a board set up in the courtroom and then getting the prosecution to attempt the same

I fully agree with Ryan and yourself. It has made the sport a more elitist sport but favouring the top 16. As confusing as the ranking systems are at times, it made sense that the top 16 of pro tour OoM got seeded coz they are the in form players of that year. Great video, keep up the good work 👍🏼🎯

Matt Porter is always responding to the critics of the repetitive Premier League format how they cannot change it every year, how it needs time etc, but when it comes to the European Tour, they have no problem making changes every year. Pure hypocrisy.
@idi0tdetectioninprogress10 күн бұрын
It should go back to 10 players, 1 game per night. Have a proper league and relegate the bottom 3. That would bring fresh faces in every year. Sky probably have some say in the Premier League too, its prime TV coverage, so they want on the night drama.

PDC seems to have a peculiar fetish for serving the same matches over and over again. It's the same with Premier League, which was great once, and nowadays is no longer premier, nor a league.

BDO peaked in 1983 and the decline started in 1987. Interesting that the players in the early 90's said that BDO would be dead in 30 years if it carried on the way it did. The rise of satellite TV was probably the main reason the PDC succeeded. While Croft refused to move away from the working men's clubs of the 80's.

I moved away from Essex 20 years ago but I was playing in the RUSC club and another who's name escapes me, but Billy used to come and watch us often. He was so supportive and just knew how to encourage you with a quiet word in your ear when going up against top county players. RIP Billy and all my love to Wayne following the passing of Donna. My thought were with you.

Olly Crofts influence on darts should never be underestimated (PCD is here because of his impact on darts - 100%). But he was in no position to criticise how other organisations are run. He created something great, then through sheer arrogance, ruined it. Its a real shame :( Im also sure that vote would never have been held on the PDCs takeover if Croft thought (or feared) there was a one percent chance he would loose (less than that even - 0.00000000001 percent)
