With the depth of competition in the game today, I think it's going to be difficult to break Taylor's record, just for the fact Humphries/Littler could average really high on their way to a quarter/semi final, but get stopped by someone who just plays that bit better than them. I'm not saying it's impossible, but anything is possible. Great video 👍🏼🎯

That amount of difference (3 points per throw) is too small to be worth switching about with. People do this in the beginners league where I play, but their calculations are so bad that it massively negates any such minor gains gained by throing for 19s if one calculates to an optimum standard. What is more, throwing for 19s often leaves players on more difficult finishes at the end which they are not experienced enough in to know all the set ups, thus lessening their chances even more so. Of course, you can play 19s and do good calculations and set ups with a bit of thought put in, but 19s makes it a bit tougher. At the point when you are throwing 26 vs 29 (it's not difficult to work that original 3-point advantage out) by going for either target, that 3 points' difference is not going to make any serious impact. And as soon as the darts start going a bit straighter into 3x20 = 60, then that 3 points is reversed anyway, which also increases to 5 points if one goes into the treble. For sure, sometimes 19s feels easier to hit, and a treble 7 feels like a bit of a steal, but it still makes sense to go for the most points more often than not. Same goes for leaving a 170 or a 167 finish if possible rather than a 171, 169, 166 etc. Obviously the chances at beginner and amateur level are slim, but you have a chance to finish, at least. It's better to have the aspiration and intent to make a big score than think about minor gains from missing the intended target.

I think he's got a point about the boards, I previously owned an Eclipse HD2 and after 3 years of moderate usage (30-60 mins per day) it was in rather rough shape, there were large bundles of fibres protruding from the board in every number segment. I since replaced it with a Red Dragon NPQ (I got lucky and got a triple core one) and it self heals a lot better and is still in great shape after a few months of usage. However every time Simon plays I still see very visible damage to the boards, and although it isn't as noticeable as on the Unicorn boards, it's still obvious that his points do damage the board. My gut says that the PDC just didn't want to get into a confrontation with the players, and although I'd say Simon's points are obviously a lot worse than any other player's, I suspect they didn't want to single him out either. The Winmau boards do seem to play better so I don't see why Simon still has to use such aggressive points, IMO there's still an argument for doing something about it.

Yet another case of the damage that can be done to the integrity to athletes/sport from the political influence of the relationships between sports league officials and equipment manufacture/sponsorship $'s.

BDO didnt understand its changing place in darts. Both sides have a place in the sport witn the BDO being a proving ground before moving on to the PDC. Or for players falling off the tour to rebuild confidence!!

PDC needs to bring the girls back as a volunteer gig. If a girl volunteers, they get their Instagram and Tiktok advertise during the walk out. Anyone who dosent like the walk on girls, has to argue with the volunteer girls and not the PDC. If no girls volunteer, then no walk on girls.

So in other words, bring them back but refuse to pay them!? Not sure how that is a solution to anything. No one was claiming no women wanted the gig.
