I have been told by my medical team to stay in isolation due to my asthma and congenital heart defects because of the risks of the virus. My cousin who I call my older brother stopped by with my two nephews which really helped to lift my spirits today since it’s been hard to be away from my my family, day program, boyfriend, my friends, and my synagogue community.

It is scary places slowly reopening especially where I live. We have the highest numbers in all of Canada. We have to wear a mask when going in public but a lot of people aren't doing this. As a person with health issues it worries me. But I realize we must reopen because this virus will be around for a while. I just hope more people will follow the basics to protect themselves and others. Wearing a mask, washing hands often, 6 feet apart isn't a lot to ask for to get things going again. Have a blessed day😊.

Re-opening is a scary venture since we have been sheltered inside for so long. What makes me most nervous is that I do what I need to be safe...it's the other people who feel comfortable going out without masks/gloves or use proper distance that make it scary.

Creative Crystal That's sad, they don't wear masks. Here in Germany it's compulsory in stores and public transport by law. And people (maybe because of the German stereotype of sticking to rules very precisely) really do wear them. I'd say 99%. But weirdly anywhere it's not compulaory yet, e.g. long distance trains, they don't. Because it's not an official rule. Oh well. But I guess it's compulsory there now too. Since it only works with rules.

The year ahead is definitely going to be scary. I know being so high risk I have delayed so many health appointments but I won’t be able to do that forever; tests need doing; treatments performed. But you get scared going into medical facilities. It’s hard to calculate the risks v having setbacks. Let alone the idea of even going into regular places

Liz Downing, I totally get what you're saying, and can relate 100%. My last face to face appt, was the first week of February. All others have been telephonic since then, but I am overdo for tests/treatments too. When a COVID 19 vaccine is developed, my medical team may decide that I should not receive one (due to my history of significant reactions in the past). To take the chance....potential trauma and hospitalization, vs staying at home during outbreaks....we'll see. If my likelihood of a vaccine / reaction/ response being worse than the alternative (staying home), that presents us with something that certainly needs to be discussed. The PCV 13 pneumonia vaccine, was downright awful for me, I certainly don't want to experience something like that again. Where's my crystal ball ?!?! 🤗

I am relating so much to what Peter is saying. I have a chronic illness, our state has already started opening back up this week. Friends are putting pics of themselves on FB eating at restaurants, and getting haircuts. Family members went on vacation to the beach and they all looked so happy. I’m not sure when I’ll feel like it’s safe for me to do these things; but seeing others out is definitely making it hard. I’ve leaned toward the side that believes that the numbers are skewed to cause panic; but I can’t live like that just in case I’m wrong. I think there will come a time when I just can’t stay in any longer. I’m already stir crazy. Peter and Mary, you guys have done a great job staying busy and occupied at home.

Thank you Peter for expressing the heart of the matter. I am 62ys old. I was dx’d with Lupus in 1999. In CA Gov Newsome has been acting with caution as to when and how much to open and I am so grateful. Though I have empathy for those who need to work and pit food on the table too. I only hope others understand if I need to quarantine longer. The gray can still be approached with love and compassion by all of us. With our hearts and not our fears.

But I think we all need to supportive of each other and where we are at. If someone wants to stay home, they should. If they want to wear a mask, quit making fun of them. Hello! My name is Matilda, I live in Sweden and I have CF. Since we haven't had quarantine in the same way as you, I really understand what you're talking about. For us, all decisions have fallen on the individual (except what the public health authority recommends). I have had to say no to many things these months and it's made me feel sicker than I am (for example, I can't complete my teacher's degree as intended, at the same time as my friends) Thanks to Orkambi, I've been relatively healthy in my CF since 2018, but this period has made me feel more isolated than I am used to, even before Orkambi. I can imagine Mary may feel a bit the same, as she have had a good effect from the triple combo. It will be a greater contrast when you have finally been able to come out and meet more people and feel the freedom with the new medicine. But it will be okay!

Our family is dreading things opening early too both in protection for our fam with illness but also the people who will get sick and who will lose family members and people who will get damaged from covid. So sad. Our local lake where we walk our dog has been closed for fishing and swimming and people have been massively ignoring the many signs saying fishing isn’t legal there. People are out in groups and boating (lake is too cold for swimming anyways) but the reality is that they aren’t even following the law now. The only thing the park was open for walk taking walks/runs and bicycling. Blah anyways it’s so frustrating but your feeding Harry is on and I’m dying of cuteness. Also you singing to show tunes was hilarious. Love seeing you so happy and energetic and dare I say healthy seeming. ✨✨✨🎉

I am dreading it as well. My husband has been really missing eating out but he has not eaten out and takes a lunch that he makes to work. He's already been called back to work in about a week in Winston-Salem. We live in Greensboro. I will continue to be cautious until I think it is okay to go out and about freely again. I just wish the state had more testing available before they start doing any more phases after this initial one already.

Many transplant patients are in the same boat knowing that we are more at risk to develop complications should we get infected with C19. Montreal, Quebec 🇨🇦 is hit quite hard at the moment and masks, social distancing and other measures are only somewhat followed. De confinement is nerve racking for immunosuppressed people because it is evident that people will just go back to old habits and “forget” to remain vigilant. However, there is a glimmer of hope as Health Canada just approved clinical trials for a potential vaccine. Hopefully, immuno compromised patients will be able to benefit from it (we can only get non-live vaccines). Good luck with everything, thanks for your awesome videos and stay safe! 🙏💚

My state has reopened though our daily case rate has not declined. So my family and I are staying home. I live with my two high risk parents and every time I think of going back out I ask "Is this worth my dads life? Is this worth my moms life?" How long am I going to have to ask that question? I have no idea. But we are not alone. So many of us (and you guys) are in the same boat.

I love the movie 7 Brides for 7 Brothers! Have you tried pineapple cottage cheese. It’s delicious! It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year. Can’t imagine how you process all the changes that has happened. You also seem happy with your home and venturing out and finding new places.

I'm having a really difficult time re-entering society even though we've only had 4 new cases and only 6 active cases all together here in Iceland. I'm plain scared to go outside, I've been staying home for 73 days all by myself and have gotten everything delivered. I've only been able to go for 2 walks because the nerve pain in my feet has been extreme and walking hurts so much🙁 Now restrictions are being more and more loosened and I'm nowhere near ready to face the outside world and I don't know what to do.. work is out of the question especially if people are going to be coming over here to escape Covid19 in their countries (which makes me want to scream) as I work in a store where social distancing isn't possible, the last time I worked was March 5th. I'm on disability pension and thankfully don't have to worry about money. Anyone have some advice?

What worries me the most is how many people are not taking this seriously and are acting like it is nothing. I am immune comprised and am taking this seriously. And for people to compare the numbers to the flu bothers me as well. This has not been around very long and I can see the numbers will end up higher than the flu. I have no issues with social distancing, my husband and I are home bodies. Just hope when they do open up they do, do it slowly and the curve doesn't go back up after reopening.

Esther Smart, After listening to, and hearing from SO many people....I am hearing of a greater awareness from those who are not as vulnerable (RE: why those of us who are, need to take additional or special precautions,). I hope it is not an awareness that dissipates soon, but I will assume that some have a new understanding that they will hold onto. In nursing school, it was ingrained in us to never 'assume' though! Don't tell my instructors!! Have a good week!! 🤗

My husband is excited because golf courses in Ontario, Canada were allowed to open today ( with restrictions). In fact, he has a tee off time booked for Monday afternoon. I am totally ok with a slower, cautious reopening. I remember years ago watching Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and loving the music, the choreography, and the story line. Spaghetti squash & meatballs sounds interesting and worth trying. I love spaghetti and meatballs but I get so bloated and overstuffed because of the pasta noodles. Truthfully, it is probably because I put too much on my plate LOL. Snuggles to you, Peter, Ollie, and Harry 🤗❤️❤️🙏🏼😘🐕🐱

Katheryn Kennedy, I think it's so unpredictable, from area to area. Right where I live, I see a lot of compliance with the guidelines. About 30 miles north of me (same state), there are people out protesting. Go figure right!?! I even have family members who are not as compliant as they should be. We don't have the control to take care of ourselves out in public, when those around us are not doing their part. Very frustrating, and that's why I feel the need to stay at home most of the time. When I am out, I do wear my N95's, otherwise, I wouldn't be going out to the stores at all. Wishing you all the best! :)

I have 1 week left of online school before we go back for the last 4-5 weeks of term. I know for me personally it’s going to be really hard because the quarantine and lockdown have been a much needed rest from the anxiety and torture of going to school or out and about places. Kind of like you guys with Trikafta. It’s going to be hard to go back to that and deal with that and live through that with not much chance of or another rest in the near foreseeable future. It may sound bad but at this point I don’t really care, I hope here in Australia we have to go back into quarantine and certain precautions are put in place so that I can stay in this time and place and state where I am not forced to go to the shops often or forced to go to school or forced to go outside as often. I think that now that I know what a rest for me feels like and much I actually needed I can’t even imagine not being in a rest period. Honestly it means I have to go back to what the world used to look like or what it will look like after all of this, but I don’t want it to end, I want it to go on forever.😕

There's some people that are hoping a certain amount of "Social Distancing " will become permanent. You know so peoples personal space won't be intruded on. And I, for one, can definitely see their point of view on that...... And even though my husband and mine health aren't anywhere near as immunocompromised as Mary's, I'm a bit apprehensive about the road out of Coronavirus. Well at least that part of the road we all will have to traverse in the next few weeks. I mean there are people out there who wouldn't know "Social Distancing " even if they fell over it, right now. So I definitely share your concerns about society opening up gradually....... But..... On a much "lighter note " ......... Now I've got the song Green Green Grass of Home going through my head now ( and of course it's the Tom Jones version)........ ⚛️☮️💟

I agree with you when you say Mary and Peter inspire you. Mary has always handled everything that's throw at her with such grace. Even though she is much younger than I. I look up to her. I wish I could handle my illness the way she does. And Mary I love Doris Day also ever since I was a little kid. I used to wake up at the middle of the night and turn on the TV just to hear her sing .Even with our age differences. We like a lot of the same things. I also love when Mary's dad plays the guitar and they sing together and when Mary sings with her grandmother. I miss my parents and grandparents so much. So I enjoy when Mary and Peter are with their parents. And Peter is so awesome the way he takes such great care of Mary. Love you both and praying for you and everyone that watches your channel. Please everyone stay safe and well. And please keep the medical workers in your prayers. God bless everyone. ❤❤❤
