You were like what is this? And I was like it's your new pump! Good job unboxing four boxes (five boxes!). I know it's tiring. I do IVIg Thursday and Saturday. We're almost on the same schedule again! Wooo! Glad they send you the pills and you don't have to worry about not having enough. I hope the nurse is supportive and helpful today! I pray it's not too painful. You have both got this! 🙏🌟🎉

My insulin pump had 6mm and 9mm sub q needles. Most kids and really thin people use a 6mm to get to the subq and average size use the longer 9mm. I hope things are getting all worked out for you today! I swear my house looks like a pharmacy lol. Thanks for taking us along!!!

Wow allot of supplies today. Very interesting. Can't wait to see how it all works. I really love being in here I learn so much. I am a CNA. I have done home health over 12 years then and some hospice. Then my boys died then I couldn't handle any of it for a while. But anyway I'm back in a home with a lady that has dementia. But I learn allot. Thanks.

I hope that your life is rich with blessings from here on out Janine. You sound like a remarkable woman!

I’m kind of surprised that with all the stuff you get that needs refrigeration you haven’t purchased a small refrigerator just for that purpose. Like maybe a 1.6 cf that you can just sit on a counter. Maybe you don’t have as much as it seems and don’t really need it. But it would keep you from putting stuff in your regular refrigerator. Interesting video. I guess being a nurse I could be considered a medical nerd. Although you aren’t a school trained nurse you are doing so many medical tasks and as the visiting nurse said “you are excellent at this” so I would like to wish you a Happy (honorary) Nurses Week. Nurses care for their patients, keep track of what’s going on with them, educate others, work closely with other members of the medical community, trouble shoot any difficulties their patients have and a whole host of other tasks until they fall into bed at ghe end of the day absolutely exhausted. I would say you can easily tick off every one of those boxes and more. So I’m impressed with the new method of care you’re diving into & I congratulate you. (Although I did cringe at the Neupogen injection but you got it.)

I use Cuvitru! I use 8grams 2 needles. I don’t use the lidocaine cream. I don’t feel like waiting on it to numb, it’s just another step in the process. Plus, the little 2 pokes I do don’t typically hurt bad enough to use it.

Hi u all. I just wanted to thank all of u for your kind messages and prayers while I’ve been in the hospital. This was not the best time, obviously, to be in the hospital. Even though they kept the covid patients in an isolated area called “the bubble”, I was still very nervous about getting back t from even a nurse or doctor who was exposed. (I did find out that the staff who are working in the bubble, stay there. They do not float all over the hospital) But what about the kitchen staff, or the operating room or any surface. Honestly, my doctors have all said that it would be a death sentence for me if I got covid. Your kind words, cards, and prayers got me thru things. When I was being taken upstairs to my room (I had a direct admission), the lady told me Jake my service dog and my daughter were not allowed upstairs. I had already called about it when I heard that no visitors were allowed. I spoke to the charge nurse who told me it would be fine, and of course my daughter is important to take Jake out to potty or to care for him if I had an emergency or procedure. So when I got up to the floor, I told my nurse what happened and she said did your daughter leave yet, and I said no she’s waiting in the car to hear from me because we were already told yes. So she said hang on, and came back and said tell your daughter to come on in and I personally will meet her and walk her up. And she did. My daughter stayed with me as much as she could. When she had to go to work, she took Jake out and fed him and tucked him back into bed with me before she left. And then my other daughter was there about 10-11am before either Jake or I woke up. But my point is that the lady who said he wasn’t allowed asked me for his papers(which I provided along with his vaccination records.) I had also thoroughly bathed him before we left. (Just like we do every time we go to Vanderbilt to visit patients to help cheer their day) This shouldn’t have ever happened. I am so so sick, and I absolutely did not have the energy or patience for all that. Not to mention she broke the law. I’m so glad that I knew the laws and that I had called ahead. I was discharged early because our entire county has had 4 times the amount of covid cases, and patients were lined up in the emergency room waiting for beds. (Obviously they took the covid cases up to the bubble, but everyone else was left without a bed.) I wanted to give my bed up so someone could have it. It meant that I had to go home with a NG tube in and I didn’t get my G J button, but I can do that surgery on an outpatient basis at the same time they put my central line in. Okay I know this is super long. I just wanted to thank everyone for everything. I’m really really struggling and extremely depressed. And your thoughtfulness, kindness, notes, calls and prayers made it possible for me to get thru it. Thank u all.

I know it's sort of late to suggest this and I imagine you guys are grass people. However, one suggestion maybe to consider a ground cover instead of grass. You most likely would weed less and there are several choices that would allow to walk outside bare feet and you wouldn't need to mow. The nice thing about it with less overall yard work you could spend more time in the garden or doing other things especially when your human needs out weigh your home's needs. It's just food for thought. The yard looks amazing! I can't see the rich greenness that's soon to come.

The lidocaine now comes standard when they get the order from the doctor for either IV infusions as well as subcutaneous. I know when I recently had a home infusion for IV I G they sent a small tube of lidocaine to use specifically on my arms if I felt like I needed it for IV placement. It was really odd don’t know why and I specifically asked why I got a tube of lidocaine and that was their answer. However I was told that the subcutaneous you should use the lidocaine as it tends to be a little bit more painful than a regular port stick or IV stick just the placement and area is more uncomfortable than your arms. But I also find it really funny that they sent me a bottle of Tylenol and bottle of Benadryl pills as well as my IV form of Benadryl as that’s what I have to take for IV I G but I guess it comes down to like a legality.

Me too, but when you deal with it on a regular basis, it pretty much becomes second nature, I think. Look back on a new job you may have had in the past ( depending on how old you are of course...you might be a kid for all I know 😉), remember how you thought you'd never remember all the steps and procedures etc? But after awhile, you got the hang of it. Or learning how to drive....wait, I have to steer, remember which pedal is which AND watch the road? 😵 Now you do those things without even thinking about it. But yeah, Mary's medical closet makes my head spin!!

sxcred Jones yep! It all came at the same time and I ended up with a ton of boxes at the same time. Usually mine come staggered throughout the weeks. Do yours all come at one time?

Sorry, I thought you said WHEN, not how. Nevermind. 😉 And why....her new team requires IVIG to be done in the hospital, so they're trying SubQ, so they can avoid a hospital stay.

ashack09 I have tons of leggings. I love them! With my chronic illnesses and chronic pain leggings are so easy for me to get on. Since I am not at my day program due to Covid-19. My outfits are a shirt and leggings. Easy and comfortable clothing. I am not going to impress anyone right now.

Has Peter's accent changed ? 😂 He sounds kinda southern/Texan now. I'm not from America so I don't know if that's the correct area ? But he sounds different hahaha. Like the people who say Y'all now.
