apparently they "lost" the lore book from the original team, so they're just going to make up things from now on. storyline, areas, it's pretty much all gone, except for the 'older players' that DO remember all of the stuff they removed. I highly highly doubt they'll bring back anything from the old team (kalters, ashland, etc.) because they're trying to make the game more of 'their own'. the game in general now is just kinda boring. all the new quests they add are short lived and can be done in a day, versus things like archeology which took me (a 2014 player) about 5 years to complete. it feels like they do it so people can stop complaining about how they "dont release quests anymore". it would not surprise me if they revamped jarlehiem, epona, validate, etc completely, like they did with steves farm. they don't follow past games and they're only focused on this one, so I dont think the map will ever grow to how we knew it. I believe the old team would have done that but not the new one, their values don't seem to line up with what we grew to know. it just isn't sso anymore, its something else.

With the way the quests are going I feel like devil's gap is going to be the next one to be released- I also think you're completely right that they just put so much on their plate and that's why they don't release anything new. I agree with you that they should update areas not remake them- we already lost Steve and silver glade farm so I really hope we get to keep dino valley and jarlaheim

True, atm they are putting so much on their plate, characters, new systems, reworking story lines, etc. The way the story is going I and what they’ve referenced I feel as if they are prepping to open up more areas north at some point but I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon.

I really hope they'll update Dino valley their is so much they can do with that area. And then make a reboot about the Kallters storyline. That before we get in to the last quest we got about Avalons vision and the Kallters heading out the valley through the icengate we get a quest where we meet them first and a couple of adventures with them and then the continuation is Avalons vision which should lead to us going through the icengate to the Kallters home land. Dino valley at this point should just get a revamp in both textures and structure to make it more beautiful. And yes it seems like they are working on Devils Gap as in the recent mainstory quests we (spoiler) learned that the Vala witch took Anne, Alex and miss Holdsworth to Devils Gap. We're getting 4 story snacks these coming weeks to help grow the sappling companion tree in to a new primivail tree so that the wild weave reactivates so we can travel through it to reach Devils Gap and find out the Vala's agenda so we can evantually convince Pi that the Vala have no dark plans and will be willing to help us grow Concorde in to an adult horse.

Yea i want more areas too, but why these areas will be only for star riders? Thats annoying...and when i go in sso im bored bc i haven't quests to do and i haven't new areas to explore! I would really like if sso let the non star rider players like me go to the other areas. 😣

I don't think they'd ever do that sadly as unlocking the entire map is one of their main selling points :(

It'a interesting watching this video in 2024, seeing you ride around the old Valedale while guessing which areas will get updated and it's not even really on your radar. It looks so gorgeous now and the paths of whimsy/runeology/terra were such a nice addition. I hope future graphical makeovers and content updates will be as good!

I hate how people are complaining about stuff like this not being added into the game. Not to sound like a b*tch or anything but why don’t some of you try building a game like SSO yourselves and see how hard game development and designing actually IS first and THEN come back and complain about them taking so long with new areas, new tack items, new WHATEVER. If you ask me it’s not surprising that they are taking this long with the development of new areas. :/

the point is that sso has been around for a little more than a decade and still is behind on a lot :/ its sad that we dont have more in the game considering that they have so much support and employees
