To me the biggest inconsistency with Anglican branch theory is this. Both Anglicanism and Catholicism teach that I can be saved in the Catholic Church, but the Catholic Church teaches that I can't be saved in Anglicanism while also being aware of the Catholic position (Lumen Gentium 14), so I'll be Catholic then. Why would I be Anglican?

I’m Protestant, the main debates that happened during the Reformation was mainly about Sotoriology and Ecclessiology, other than that we are in lock step with Rome when it comes to the Trinity, unlike the more damnable Trinitarian heresies that arose from the East.

The answer often times with EO churches is that it depends on which one you talk to. I would say they would argue it’s a disciplinary issue or a pastoral question, but that doesn’t work for these grave moral issues. Same as EO disputes reception of baptized converts by re baptism or chrismation.

Most churches accepted the 'pill' to conform to the current culture and moved away from agreement with the Catholic church on this moral issue. The 'pill' enabled the sexual revolution of the 60's and it opened up for other "nasty" things to be normally accepted, of which decades ago they would have been unthinkable.

By sect he is talking about the visible institution and membership of the Church, since he believes the Catholic Church is all faithful believers/baptized, so our Catholic Church definition would just be a subdivision of this body encompassing all believers, ergo you can think of it as a sect. This is what I think he means at least.
