We chose Portugal as our home over 2 years ago now and the time has really flown by! We think living here has been a great start for family life and Story's early years. We've always wondered if Portugal might become a bit of a digital nomad hub in the future, like Chiang Mai in Thailand used to be. Enticing other work online types to come and work and live here. What do you think?

I spent 9 months in Portugal in the 80's. It was the last country I visited before returning to South Africa after 10 years of travelling in Europe and the Middle-East as a single Mum with my then 4-year-old son. I'm sorry now I never spent more time in Portugal and I've longed to return. For some odd reason, I feel strongly connected to Portugal and recently find myself hankering to return. I have an online "job" and could very easily become a digital nomad! I'm looking into moving to Portugal ( not sure how that would be possible from South Africa ) but luckily I'm a bit of a fatalist, so que sera is my motto. :-) Until then I live vicariously through your WONDERFUL Vlog almost daily playing in the background as I design. Thank you for all you do! :-)

This young couple of English, one day is already beginning to communicate in Portuguese and this is something like understanding the writing or speaking in German or Greek or Spanish. Then it causes a lot of admiration to his countrymen. The Portuguese know that the English people have always enjoyed living here, and even defending this land. They even took over the country when D. João VI fled to Brazil during the Napoleonic invasions. This British preference comes from the time of D. Filipa de Lencastre who was English, and a queen who changed Portugal. But there are more important English people here, for example William Beckford in Monserrate (Sintra) and Francis Cook, and those families linked to Port wine, etc.

I have only been to Lisbon, but very much enjoyed it, and the country looks beautiful. Although I find the natural parts of any country, beautiful. The patio on your house worries me, with a young child, there is no safety rail. I do find in some countries their safety regs are not up to par, so be careful. Portugal has much to offer, trouble is by learning the language, it is not too useful around the world, like Spanish would be. I also saw a statistic that they have the worst rate of traffic accidents in Europe, so how do you find the drivers there? The closer family bonds that the Portuguese folk seem to have is also common in other southern European countries, like Spain and Italy. They do more things multi-generationally. Yes the wages there are lower, hence so is the cost of living. They always go hand in hand. Tip-I think one is supposed to have their shoulders covered in a Catholic church. I love your gentle subtle music, so many videos have awful music, that drowns the voices. Keep up the good work and thank you.
