I / we have 200,000 students currently enrolled on our Free Academy. We also have countless shop owners who learned the trade from us … and purchased equiptment and started their own shops. With rising prices and machine quality dropping … most will never have an opportunity to purchase a CNC Machine… Not everyone is built to be a banker, doctor or lawyer. Syil gives American students who may not be built for a regular college, an opportunity to chose to buy a machine instead of paying for college… then they can learn on our Academy for FREE and enter the workforce or buy more machines and manufacture parts in the USA. It also lets more people have an opportunity to start their own shops in the US and around the world… which allows more manufacturing to be done in America. Syil is a GREAT machine at a really low price. Manufacturing will grow larger in the USA… because of the opportunities that our students get and because many will be able to purchase machines etc Over the last decade you would be hard pressed to find anyone in the world that has done more for American manufacturing than Titans of CNC. Having the best technology in the world at the lowest price, allows American companies to stay competitive and stay in business. It allows American companies to hire machinists… instead of laying them off. Now, average machinists have an opportunity to grow and have their own machine in their garage. It’s up to them… where they take their dream to after that. Sky is the Limit.

Super excited to develop training content for these videos. A lot of people may not realize this, but by us partnering with Syil, we will have inside access to the manufacturer themselves and if we see any issues, we may can have some influence on getting them resolved. That would be another win for anyone that purchases these machines.

We have one where I teach. Neat machine. But they need to include a multi tap transformer. The transformer is 240-380. Needs taps for 220-380, 480-380, etc. And Table machined for jergens ball lock would be great. Modify the castings to take a pallet jack without having to lift machine off the floor. We bought with the tool probe, thought it came with spindle probe as well. Does not. Need to have that as an option.

I went to Syil’s website looking for info on the structure/build. Nothing about ballscrew size, linear rail size, type or class. Not one single picture of the electrical cabinet layout. No info about servo drives, single axis drives or is it multi axis drive unit? Overall no information on the serviceability of the machine. I bring these points up because I’ve been a maintenance man forever and a new shop owner could be in for a shock when it comes time to replace/repair something. Great job job trying to help out the startups.

I have an X7 and as far as I can tell, there are no proprietary parts that I’ve come across outside of the control. I added wireless probing, a 4th axis, a chip conveyor and filtermist myself. Anything you could conceive of a need of having to replace is available next day from automation direct or similar domestic industrial supplier with the exception of the spindle and mechanical components which are somewhat custom. Coupled with a fully unlocked controller that lets you get in and perform maintenance activities, adjust parameters or whatever else you need to do without having to pay for a special license to unlock access or get someone else involved at several hundred dollars an hour. There’s still work to be done in terms of delivering a 100% complete finished product but in no way is it like you’re pushed into a corner and left with no options. It’s not too good to be true.

One always should seek different source for info. There are many reviews already about this brand on youtube, and there are Facebook groups with owners of the machines. Of course Titans are exited about the product, or else they would not bother to present it to their large audience out there. One should assume they got a good eye for CNC machines and quailty as they themselves got the most advance brands in use themselves. There is always the cost vs quailty vs output factor.

@@Rimrock300 because country of origin is important to a US manufacturing base. Last I checked Syil is a Chinese company of about 20 people. Their collective capitol is around $5000. They do not make their own machines but contract them out. I would think long and hard before throwing money at them. The DEM 4000 would be a much better machine with an established control, from a well known manufacturer then any of these SYIL products. I would not want them as training machines either, their use of non standard controls mean that knowledge of their proprietary control will not transfer over to a haas or fanuc machine with ease.
@Rimrock300
@Rimrock300 10 ай бұрын
I agree, a good general advice is go for well established brands, from 'low risk' countries, when your economics allow for it. At the same time many sucessful businesses within machining have been started based on lower cost brands. A few years back the norm would be 'Chinese manufatured CNC? Stay away, it's allways bad', but as of today, less so. There is a market for low cost entry machines, and a brand like SYIL is there to help fill it. I do not got personal experience with the machines, but seems to be quite a few of them around, among else in the US, the EU. From video reports owner of the newer versions seems to be fairly happy with what they got at the price. with these lower cost brands one usually do not got the 'luxuary' of picking up the phone and a serviceman with parts are stepping up at the door 30 minutes later) Anyway, each and one should think and check around well before investing into a CNC machine, no matter brand and cost level. @@TheTinkeringMachinist
@TheTinkeringMachinist

@@Rimrock300 So I guess the question comes down to what kind of risk you are willing to take. My concern is that startups will see the cheap price and promises and jump on something like this. When really a startup needs a reliable machine, much more then an established machine shop. When one of these SYiLs goes down due to some control integration issue that cannot be fixed on the phone, how long before they send someone out to fix the issue? This kind of thing would be a factory level support problem that Titans group will not be equipped to fix. It seems like these machines will compete with the likes of the DEM4000, haas mini mill/Toolroom mills, possibly even Hurco VM5i. at a starting price of $30k they are already bumping into established brand price ranges. I'm also going to guess the $30k is a starting price range for their smallest machine. Once you add a few options and installation, you could be in the 40k range. My take is SYIL is a hobby level machine like Tormach. They seem to be more stout then the tormach machines, but I would not want to start a business using either of those brands.

I'm guessing that these take at least a 240 Volt 3 PHASE outlet? (I could not find that information on Syil website). In my experience, there is never 3 phase electric available outside my house. Maybe if you live on a major road then that is possible, but I have never had it. So if that is the case, then what? A phase converter...which costs a bit of money also. Thanks for your input Titans of CNC.
@cskovach
@cskovach 10 ай бұрын
I am running my X7 off of a phase converter. From there, the 3 phase 220 is supplied to the transformer that is supplied with the machine which steps it up to 380v. If you have the capacity to add a welding circuit in your garage then you have the capability to run one of these machines.

Is China 1 factory, everyone is the same and every products the same quality..? There are 1.5 billion people, different people, different ideas, different qualities. It's no rocket science to assemble CNC machines today, a lot of comapnies and people an do it, the knowledge is all over. There are different soures of information about for exampe SYIL machines out there. One can seek info with different people, not base all info on just 1 source.

@@Rimrock300 I in no way was implying that the quality of the machine was bad. I in fact for the cost, think the opposite. I simply believe that having any of your production in China is a bad thing. Given how they disappeared all those people in Hong Kong and soon will do the same to Taiwan. This may have an impact on say, the availability of the machines or even some parts. War is bad for business and people, but humanity finds a way to get there anyway over, and over, and over again.

@@EricDraven-zd2oy I live in Hong Kong, and lived through the riots and terrorism of 2019. Now, it's all coming out - the US funding for the terror activities, the distribution of funds around the world for supporting organisations and NGOs, everything is open information. Never mind the fact that NO ONE was 'disappeared', and that every single piece of news the US received on Hong Kong was utterly false. Yes, this is all plain as day. The claims of people disappearing, or being murdered by police were all fake, unless of course, every single one of those people didn't have a name, had no friends, relatives or work colleagues looking for them. Not even ghosts, but imaginary ghosts. For those of us who lived through it, watched the city burn, saw the rioters set human beings on fire, attack women, beat innocent people unconscious, and cause tens of millions of dollars worth of damage, only to have Western 'experts' turn every incident into lies, is just insulting. All of the attacks on my city, and the lies spread in Western press are all focused specifically to make YOU believe that China is evil, and to soften you up to the idea of going to war. When you learn that the top anti-China NGOs and 'think tanks' get funding from US weapons contractors, you'll begin to understand that war IS the business. War is a Trillion dollar per year industry, in the US.

@@oldscratch3535 I am a (very small) carbide endmills reseller, I want to respond more quickly to customer needs. A CNC tool grinder like a Walter HeliTronic Power is impossible to make profitable for a small workshop, even the smallest grinder from Walter (like new Helitronic G200 for example) or from other well known brands exceeds $230k without counting all the basic accessories/options. I think there is a place for a manufacturer like Syil to offer a more affordable cnc tool grinder for small tools production and sharpening. But I didn't find it. We have 200,000 students currently enrolled on our Free Academy. We also have countless shop owners who learned the trade from us … and purchased equiptment and started their own shops… With rising prices and machine quality dropping … most will never have an opportunity to purchase a CNC Machine… Not everyone is built to be a banker, doctor or lawyer. Syil gives American students who may not be built for a regular college, an opportunity to choose to buy a machine instead of paying for college… then they can learn on our Academy for FREE and enter the workforce or buy more machines and manufacture parts in the USA. It also lets more people have an opportunity to start their own shops in the US and around the world… which allows more manufacturing to be done in America. Syil is a GREAT machine at a really low price. Manufacturing will grow larger in the USA… because of the opportunities that our students get and because many will be able to purchase affordable machines etc Over the last decade you would be hard pressed to find anyone in the world that has done more for American manufacturing than Titans of CNC. Having the best technology in the world at the lowest price, allows American companies to stay competitive
