You all have to stop saying "not just Black women", sometimes because it's not always equal for all... I had a baby and although I had good medical insurance, my c-section & the health of me and my baby wasn't the best care as a Black woman (half Black). Had issues since and still didn't get the best.. I had an Indian doctor ( Asian decent) left her. Then had a white Dr, left her, then I had a Black Dr, left her. I just stayed away but now I have a good Dr. Who happens to be White and she listens to me and I feel comfortable.. My gyn is a Black woman and I love her as well..

You started this video by saying "if it can save one person..." well, I'm here to tell you - this video saved us. Because of what you shared I knew to push back when the doctor said no. I knew how to ask for this treatment by name and location using the link. I knew the window and criteria we had to get my mom in while she still qualified. I knew to activate her PCP and push higher when the PCP was clueless on the new treatments. Thank you. It saved our family. Thank you. I'm getting emotional typing this but I want you to know you made a difference.

@@YoItsGigi Just an FYI, it depends on which hospital you go to. There are some hospitals that aren't taking the bulk of covid pts. On top of that, there are over 8 units in large hospitals, so unless you know someone that has worked on every single floor then you can't speak on how "busy" hospitals are. As someone who works on Covid floors(and who knows nurses who work on these floors), healthcare staff are tired. And yes, there are hospitals that are overwhelmed. This is why it is absolutely crucial to have that one person who will advocate for you if you do ever find yourself in the hospital.✌🏽

I have underlying health conditions and other things that they mentioned pertained to me such as advocating for yourself as a patient. I have stopped or backed off being persistent in my healthcare because after a while you feel like you're being pushy. I'm going to take this advice! My family and I have literally just been through this. We’re waiting to go get re-tested now but let me tell you. When we tested positive, the beginning was calm. We weren’t showing mad symptoms and it wasn’t nothing that couldn’t be handled at home. Fast forward, my mom and dad had to be rushed to the hospital with COVID pneumonia where my dad claims it was hard to talk, move, or breathe. Doctors gave him options and one of those options was a blood transfusion (aka the antibodies cocktail as you call it). He took that and immediately right after started feeling 100% better, so did my mom. He says that without that he doesn’t know if he would have made it out alive. So I would like to thank the University of Florida who originally started this and ran tests to see if this method would work. I would also like to thank the hospital my parents went to for giving people that option. Thanks to them my mom and dad are looking and doing better. I’m scared but ready to get re-tested. 😀

Never forget: if you ever ask a doctor to do a test or for certain medication that you think you need, please ask them to write that in your chart. There needs to be traces of what you asked for and why or why not they didn’t do what you asked.... people have died before because of this. Please always be your own advocate.

From day 1 I've been wiping down the groceries. Also eating grapes, oranges and drinking hot green tea. A cup of hot tea 3x a day helps. Wiping down the keys your purse the car steering wheel everything you touch in the car. I truly believe these things I've stated above have helped my family not get covid. Even fast food I wipe down and wash my hands I out everything on paper plates I get my drink n I wipe it down in the car before I drink. We also take elderberry with zinc n VIT. C and vit d3 .... Not only am I high risk my mother is too with autoimmune for both n diabetes for her with early stages of dementia who I have to constantly say wipe n wash because she wants to go out to the store I'm on her like flies in horse shit. No joke. I have my daughter who is 11 at home I feel bad but I can't afford to die nor my mom if I allow her to go to school my son whom is in the Navy left in June to bootcamp .... Still to this day I nag him make sure you mask n wash n sanitize. Yet he is one that thinks it's just ok no worries mom ... Unfortunately I'm double whammy I have positive A blood which it's harder for me to produce antibodies. Hence my autoimmune disorders ..... I've been double masking also since day 1 .... People thought I was crazy from day 1 but not knowing anything about this virus.... I out my self as the virus and said hummm if I was covid-19 what n where can I lerk. Just like when babies crawl I start to babby proof. I did covid-19 proof. I'm not saying this will work for everyone but it works for me n my family so if I gave you some useful info I'm happy. Thanks to Adrienne I now know more about it with the pepcid that will be something I will add to our list. I didn't know about the grapes till 2 months ago when I read an article saying it can help I've been eating them daily. Everyone please say safe and your a mask. I've had family and friends pass away. I've had school mates young and older then I by 2 ys pass from this. I pray for all families that have had to deal with this horrid virus may god comfort you and give you strength. God is good prayers are powerful. And the universe will hear you. Love and light. 🙏💜

And if it were me, I would fight the hospital on those extremely high bills. For the very brief moment I worked in social services, I know, if you’re willing to advocate for yourself or have someone who will go to bat for you, you can sometimes convince a hospital to lower the bills. It probably won’t work for everyone, but it’s a chance it might be possible. And somewhat unrelated but a little related, if you’re ever involved in a crime and get injured (as a witness or victim), most if not all states cover medical bills incurred as a result of a crime.

@@TheRoyalAssistant I tried that, it didn’t work. That was the first thing I tried after my other symptoms were gone and it didn’t work. I’m doing smell training and patience. Like they said, it effects everyone differently. my mom, sister in law and cousin all had it. My sister in law never lost hers, my mother lost it briefly for 10 days and my cousin got in back in three days. I’m just trying to stay cool and patient, it been depressing and frustrating but I stay humbled at the fact that I haven’t lost my life. So I can’t complain, I’m just grateful.

I also experienced the loss of smell, I got tested positive almost 4 weeks ago. It’s getting a little better, I’d say I can smell 30% now. But it’s affecting my appetite, I’m eating less than I used to. 😕

@@Jubifortuna I know exactly what you mean, the only thing that tastes good to me is baked potatoes and vegetables. So far I’ve lost like 10 lbs. In the days that I can’t eat, I drink Boost for women to kind of help with my appetite. COVID sucks, but thank GOD for his mercy on us, cause it could have been worse, I’ve been doing smell training and I can only hope and pray that things will get better. I pray for your speedy recovery and when you get your smell back, I hope you enjoy every meal that you couldn’t eat while going through this. Rest assure, I will😂😂😂🙏🙏😀😀😀

So happy to see your mother is doing well and recovering! Praise God! I lost 3 out of 4 Grandparents within 6 months to Covid. I am 34 and at the beginning of 2020 I had 4 living, healthy, married grandparents. Now I am down to one grandma. I know I am so blessed to have had all of them for so many years. I missed the infusion stage with my diagnosis of covid and covid pneumonia. They had to give me fluids on 2 different occassions (I went to urgent care). I didn't want to go to the hospital. They would have admitted me being that I have Lupus and R.A. Everything you guys said to do I was told and did at home except for the back hits. My sister is a CNA so she checked on me before during and after work. I live by myself. My mom was freaking out because she had covid as well and couldn't come and see me. I couldn't talk because of my breathening. I go back tomorrow to get retested. Really loved this video so very very informative! Beautiful family!
