This was a fascinating interview. She is practical, she is logical, she is analytical and she is highly intelligent. She is able to compare and contrast her living in the U.S versus living in Nigeria with such analytical skills where she knows the West love for materialism has overshadowed the human intrinsic value for life. She believes those human values: respect, love for your fellow men, non-violence, a sense of community, etc, are still found on the African continent. That’s why she is leaving the robotic lifestyle (work, taxes & debt) in the U.S to raise her kids where human value and the sense of community are still greater than monetary value. It’s true materialism alone is not the key to fulfilling the human spirit. What a profound wisdom she exhibits in this short interview.

😄😄😄True! I am so glad that when I was little, I was taken on holiday from the UK to Nigeria. I was only given 3 weeks entry visa but stayed for my elementary schl, secondary schl ( formative years). I did't want to return to the UK where my parents lived. So I stayed....loved my life there as I was able run around freely; play in the streets. TV ( back in the 70s) started at 5/6pm then but our street play was more interesting. You never went hungry if parents weren't home because good-natured people fed you. The Nigeria that I grew up was exciting. Yes, the infrastructure was haphazard but it was fun. I lived in Surulere, Lagos which was solely residential back then. Now I live in 'individualis' UK where I was born and my kids are also born. I want them to know 'Mygeria'.

The government are not interested in doing that, because Nigerians will emancipate themselves and be more enlightened; the political class knows this would break their hold on power, so they keep the people subjugated.
