This was a fascinating interview. She is practical, she is logical, she is analytical and she is highly intelligent. She is able to compare and contrast her living in the U.S versus living in Nigeria with such analytical skills where she knows the West love for materialism has overshadowed the human intrinsic value for life. She believes those human values: respect, love for your fellow men, non-violence, a sense of community, etc, are still found on the African continent. That’s why she is leaving the robotic lifestyle (work, taxes & debt) in the U.S to raise her kids where human value and the sense of community are still greater than monetary value. It’s true materialism alone is not the key to fulfilling the human spirit. What a profound wisdom she exhibits in this short interview.

😄😄😄True! I am so glad that when I was little, I was taken on holiday from the UK to Nigeria. I was only given 3 weeks entry visa but stayed for my elementary schl, secondary schl ( formative years). I did't want to return to the UK where my parents lived. So I stayed....loved my life there as I was able run around freely; play in the streets. TV ( back in the 70s) started at 5/6pm then but our street play was more interesting. You never went hungry if parents weren't home because good-natured people fed you. The Nigeria that I grew up was exciting. Yes, the infrastructure was haphazard but it was fun. I lived in Surulere, Lagos which was solely residential back then. Now I live in 'individualis' UK where I was born and my kids are also born. I want them to know 'Mygeria'.

Tochukwu Okafor - Yes do that. That's what I do every time. We have no other place to call home, even if lot of us hold dual citizenship, home is still home. Am tired,fed up and stressed of all the negativity. Of course I criticise when due,and also praise and give kudos when due. Let's be positive,that's what we need as young folks to take over and move that country forward to her rightful place amongst countries in the world.

This sister knows her onions. Smart! But the thing is, you have more opportunity to make the money quick in America and then go back home. However, Nigerian govt needs to fix two things, that is the power ( light, Nepa, phcn, whatever) and then security too.
@adeshow4307

The government are not interested in doing that, because Nigerians will emancipate themselves and be more enlightened; the political class knows this would break their hold on power, so they keep the people subjugated.

If you're a foreigner you can make more money in Nigeria. Ironically, if I was to Nigeria I would have ample amount of opportunity. No disrespect but GTFOH. That's a bombastic statement full of inauthenticity. Now if you were to say Rastafarians professed an undying love for Africa before panafricanesque consciousness became trendy, then I'd have to agree with you. But the majority of Jamaicans that I've ever known were just as brainwashed and self hating as their brethren and sistren on the continent, and throughout the Americas. They'd quicker identify with the colonial British crown than they would any part of Africa.

@@chukwumaolisehemekaouwarre3236 clearly you misread what I said. I never said I regret going to Nigeria. In fact what I was explaing was there are a lot of Black Americans repatriating to Nigeria they just are not on social media. I know of at least 5 that live all over the country (North, South South, South East, West) not just in Lagos. And additionally, Ghana is lovely however it is not the end all be all for Black Americans to just repatriate there, so your commwnt about go to Ghana was not necessary. The interest is there because of the plug for the Year of Return Campaign. However "We" are moving all over the Continent. I know of people in Egypt, Tanzania, Rwanda, Namibia, Kenya, Gambia and Nigeria. Im sure there are more. Black Americans are not a monolith! This channel is nice bro. So proud that you show us what Nigeria is all about. Both the rough life and smooth life. We do not really need beautiful places to claim Africans but great minds to claim real Africans.

I Just dont know how to explain how happy i am to see a video of this lady about a positive side of Nigeria.Many people/Kids just keep on going to KZbin/Facebook making Discouraging videos"WHY I REGRET MOVING TO NIGERIA"Due mostly to their own fault of failing to plan properly before moving.This video is really encouraging cos i was really scared at some point with those terrible videos about Moving Back To Nigeria.I dont want to be a slave forever in another Mans Land Forever.Thanks so much for this Video

This was so well done! I loved the conversation. I was born and raised in America and I feel the continent of Africa calling me. I was dead set on going to Ghana or South Africa first because Nigeria gets such a bad rap. I loved your insight on why it is the blackest place on earth. I'm definitely opening my mind. Thank you!!

Love the interview. This lady is grounded and realistic about the advantages and the challenges that are Nigeria. The truth is Nigeria has immense potential and should be a first world country. At independence in 1960, Nigeria shared the same socio-economic indices as South Korea. Compare the countries today and South Korea is a country without natural resources like oil. We have to acknowledge our failures and get serious about creating a prosperous and secure future. It truly begins with each of us.

I am so happy to hear things like this, there is no place like home no matter what. Home is home, for nigeria to become what or were we want it to be, it will take a lot of work and effort. Who is going to do this?? YOU and myself. I remember in the 80s, our nigeria was one of the best place to be in. When there is life... There is hope. 🙏🙏

Thank you for igniting my curiosity in Nigeria. I think a lot of people are scared of Nigeria. Concerns of safety, fradulence, etc. Otherwise I would have been to Nigeria already.
