I wonder if I can hit that ball🤔Nope😂😂😂Thanks for the laugh and the great advice. I get my driver left and then further left. Can’t wait to try this.

I thought I could do it. I know you have to try to swing way above the ball but I still couldn't do it. I tried several times after that and still couldn't do it. As a kid I was never able to hit a ball off a tee because I'd already learned to hit a pitched ball and I think that's why it's so hard to hit a golf ball at hip height. Check this guy out. He's amazing! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqupmKitatBjirM

Interesting. Never had that method of calculating teeing up angles explained like that before. Thanks

It's actually quite an old idea. I am not the first to explain this. I only remembered it because a friend has been hitting random duck hooks and once I thought about it I realized why.

Really good explanation. Makes a lot of sense. So what do you think it translates to with a ball on the ground/no tee. I guess in that case you’d just be addressing it in the center of the face.
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes, ball on ground ... there is no compensation. We're only compensating for the height of the tee.

@@HolyGrailOfGolf so what if you're having the same issues when using a 3 wood off the deck?
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
@@VENZUL0 You don't need me to answer that for you. Just address the ball more toward the toe. Do what works for you. Look a Moe Norman, he didn't address the club anywhere near the ball and now we call him a genius.

Best way to feel the swing is to swing a club with an imagination of no club head attached, just pretend your swing just the shaft, itll make every part of your body work as it should
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I never thought about it that way but now that you mention it, I swing that way. Although I can feel the clubhead and know it's there, I don't think about it at all.

Good to see you posting again. Love your content. Is that the same range Cristo Garcia uses?
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
No, this is Rustic Canyon in Moorpark, CA. Cristo is in Pasadena. I like this range because it's flat and I can get a true and accurate measurement of distance. There are a few other ranges nearby but some of them use limited flight balls that are just spirit crushing and depressing. The driver only goes about 220 if you're lucky. The other ranges have so many hills and signs that once your ball flies over 150 you have no idea how far it went. I go to the range for distance AND direction. That's what golf is all about. I blame George Gankas and Matt Wolff for the limited flight balls. Westlake was a great range with real balls and they were open until 10 pm., but Matt hit too many balls onto the freeway so they went to limited flight but he could still hit those over the fence so they went to ultra limited flight and they are absolutely horrible. instagram.com/p/CZLlSODrEzH/?

@@HolyGrailOfGolf Nah, it's a simple thing i have to incorporate, no biggy. The golf swing just has so many little things that it's awesome, and the more automatic we can make it with proper setup the better. Your vids BY FAR, have helped me the most, true story.

I would first try and find out where my constant mis hits are on the clubface and work out from there the best address position.
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
Sure, but the first thing you want to do is remove any compensation you're making in your distance from the ball. If you're making a compensation, as most people do, you can never be sure you didn't over do it or under do it. Try this and you'll be surprised at how you can feel the difference of NOT having to make that compensating move.

Interesting. I feel like I duck hook when it get fatigued and my body doesn’t keep up with my arms.
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
Give this a try and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. My friend has been hitting these occasional duck hooks and once I thought about it realized why and also that I'd been making that same compensation even though I knew about this setup years ago. Once I started making a conscious effort to setup properly all my tee shots are much more relaxed, confident and straighter.

Humm wouldn’t this cause us to hit the heel more often thereby causing a slice spin rather than hook spin.

Let’s not think things through logically? The cause and effect explained in the video is just wrong.
@HolyGrailOfGolf2 жыл бұрын
@@johnnybravo9087 If you really want to work this out we can. You're talking gear effect but gear effect only works to a certain point. Massively off center strikes send the ball in the direction they're struck. Hit the ball off the heel, it's going left. Hit it way off the toe, it's going right. Also, gear effect only works with a decent swing. When we strike the ball off the toe in a good swing the club is usually slightly closed as it approaches the ball and therefore strikes the ball first causing the shaft to torque backward (rotate) to absorb the impact of the static ball, then gear effect puts spin on the ball so it doesn't go dead left. The whole thing is truly odd.
@johnnybravo90872 жыл бұрын
@@HolyGrailOfGolf Humm don’t agree. There is no logical reason why a heel strike will send the ball left. I could present the face open or closed and hit the heel. Leaving gear effect aside the ball will go where that face is pointing. If anything, hitting the heel is more likely evidence of an open face (leading with the heel) which would promote a rightward shot.
@teddythodo33022 жыл бұрын
Moe norman made all and every compensation at address.
@kooijbas2 жыл бұрын
I disagree. This would be true if the low point of the driver were at the point of impact of the ball. It's not. The low point is near the ground and you hit the ball on the upswing. The example you give "on the larger scale" does not compare, since the club never gets to the ground and you don't hit the ball on the upswing. You keep the club level with the ball. If you had to hit that ball on the upswing you would have to move way closer to the camera, but also move a couple of steps closer to the ball.
