Interesting video. Life in the US can change dramatically depending on the State that you choose to live in the US. Each State is is like its own country, e.g. Florida is sunny without a State income tax, but with skimpy public services whereas Washington State is also without a State income tax but with extensive public services. NY State is blue with high taxes but very good social services for its citizens but it can be expensive. Texas is the opposite. So it goes on and on. From Colorado to California...from Boston to San Diego, the US is a fascinating place with so much to offer. So it goes on and on. US is a great and an awesome country to live and raise a family, as is Canada. Enjoy the journey.

I believe they meant well by their video, but the fact is Canada offered more for them and their family than their home country, which is why they left. Wanting better for your kids/family is what you do or for yourself. But seriously it cant be heaven on earth you have to make it where ever you go, the US and Canada has some good benefits for anyone who can use it that is not available in their home country, As a matter of fact migrating is how we interact with the world, its how we grow its how we unite as a people. If anyone chooses either places to live choose based on what will benefit you and your family home is where the heart is, because things changes all the time this year will not be like next year.

Some of them have actually returned back. Yes US is a bigger market and more career opportunities. Weather is also much better. However, it's easier to get passport in Canada, not sure how long it takes in US. Public-funded healthcare is another big reason for many choosing Canada over US. So both countries have their positives and negatives. I think eventually it comes to an individual's specific situation, what works best for him.

Winters in New York City are slightly milder than that in Toronto. Chicago is as cold as Toronto. The difference isn't necessarily huge. Avoid all of them.
@Hazara26 Жыл бұрын

@@mateenali66 immigrant visa is green card. Green card is permanent visa. And they look at place of your birth. Go and read US government site about green card and lottery visa then you will know. Lottery for US green card say even if you are Canadian citizenship you can't apply if your birth place is Pakistan or India or countries which they restricted. Only option is marry American and that is also not easy because so many people did fraud and they say it is marriage of convenience means not real marriage but for US permanent or green card. The move to the US was actually quite counterintuitive given your reason for the kids, it is indeed the safety of children in schools in the US that is majorly jeopardised. I’m sure India and Pakistan are a lot safer for kids. At least we don’t gun them down in schools.

Nice blog, very useful information. Out of curiosity, How about “Islamic culture” ? Did you consider that also? You spent good time talking about work work work but what about religion?
@umernawazbinjankhattak6994 Жыл бұрын
For such ppl religion is just Allah will do the best for them and in return what Allah ask them or us to do we say in return Allah is Ghafoor and Raheem. And doing nothing all are busy in worldly life and kids and future, heaven and hell is forgotten grave is forgotten our duties as a Muslim long forgotten. Sadly mentioning it.

In Canada you can't even get a familu doctor, and peolle waiting hours and hours in emergency , months for basic tests. In US most employers provide a health plan, and it is much better and faster .

Can you please elaborate or talk about about the work permits and authorization required for Canadian citizens or PRs to work in the US?
@ahmadjawadsabir Жыл бұрын
She clearly talked about the competition because students come from all over the world. Even Canadians go to other countries for higher studies. So don’t post negative comments.

Us education & healthcare is really expensive though
@rameshpratap20 Жыл бұрын
Depends. I would argue that education in NY State is cheaper then that in Ontario. If you compare NYC to Toronto then in NYC Pre K to grade 12 is free. Even free 3K is being offered. For all State and City Universities in NY, the tuition is free if the household income is less than US$125K. If it is more then it hovers between US$6K to $7K. NYU Med School is Tuition free. Also, salaries are higher in NYC with almost similar taxes, although sales tax ranges from 0-8.875%. Public Transit is way better in Greater NYC area than in GTA. Also, for Healthcare if you don't have Insurance then you can get on NY State Medicaid, which is free without the wait times that you would see in GTA. NYC has an extensive Public Hospital system called HHC that will treat you regarding your ability to pay or immigration status. I have many families members and friends who have been waiting to see a Specialist from months to years, which in a way is a denial of Healthcare or just as good as having no Healthcare. So it all depends where you are in the US. Things change from State to State.

Most of the Canadian cities are roughly couple of hundred miles or so away from American north border, not really far from northern American states. MN. Mo, Washington etc. as a matter of fact few Canadian cities like Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal are located south of few American cities. Canadian northern part of their provinces is not populated. I have come across many from Canada working in MA and and other states.
