The litmus test of the suitability of any place is how it stacks up against your priorities in life and your life/ worldview. Any place is good or bad ; for me, for example, America has never aligned with my priorities, for others it has always been just wow. Same goes for Canada or any other place. Everyone’s journey, circumstances, backgrounds are completely different. May we all seek peace and find peace in lives.

Elementary and high school education is much better in US than Canada. Canada has more immigrants so there is more acceptability for colored people than US. Some US states mostly Midwest are Republican voters who are against immigrants hence more racism. I spent several years in the US as an undergraduate student, during which students were issued OPT to stay an additional year. However, finding a job within that timeframe for a proper work visa (H1) didn't materialize for me. In 2010, I moved to Canada as a graduate student, receiving a three-year work visa upon graduation. By 2014, I became a Permanent Resident, and in 2018, I obtained Canadian citizenship. Despite the harsh Edmonton weather, our heating systems make it manageable, and I benefit from having a doctor cousin for quick healthcare consultations. Sales enthusiasts can easily hop on a flight to the US for great bargains. While I've been a Canadian citizen for nearly six years, a friend in the US recently obtained her Green Card. We both graduated from the same US University in 2008. The key point is that Canada provided me with a passport enabling worldwide travel, including the US, and allowing me to work there. Attempting such a move without the Canadian Passport would be a different challenge.

Great conversation, but here are some facts: . Canadas population is about the size of State of California in USA- so the economy is quite small- this limits economic growth opportunities there . Issue I have seen and it is also evident from this conversation that desis want to live in Canada or US but want everything to be like it was back home- due to this they don’t make an effort to integrate into the new society- so they feel isolated and mis out on opportunities. Conversations over a cup of tea are always centered around how hard their life in their adopted homeland is- they have to load the dishwasher themselves?? . In Mid East- you are treated as 2nd class always- no path to Citizenship . I am not a CEO in US but have someone who cooks and provides meals for me and my wife whenever we need it and also pay a company to clean snow when ever it is more than 2- inches or higher. It is affordable. . Life is not as difficult as it is being portrayed- I pumped gas during student life, but you learn the tough work ethic to survive- this is the way of life in Canada and US Thanks

There a few areas that I disagree but I am glad that she sounds more like an optimistic and realistic person. You mentioned about the Islamic school and I have sent my children to Islamic school but point is how many people can afford it. Also with the current changes in curriculum, it is a growing concern for parents and should be a concern for parents sending their children to the Islamic school. U can not raise children in a bubble. I had got the option multiple times to move to US but avoided it since parents were in Canada plus after they passed away, I still did not move as I am scared of guns. Very informative and motivational podcast… but in spite of upgrading the skills sets and having Canadian experience, the Canadian companies are extremely poor in wages and paying as per the Canadian living standards. Out of hundred only 10 to 12 immigrants got integrated in the system.

Anything in this universe has a growth cycle. growing stage-saturation stage and decline stage Its simple logic -Asia is in growing stage and anglospere has already grown and going through saturation stage and decline is waiting to happen Gone are those days when you can make a good life by moving to anglospere (US,UK,Canada,Australia)countries. Now its a compromise which is not worth it.

Way too optimistic. Totally unaware of the real struggle. The lady clearly comes from money. They could spend all this time looking for a quality job. Most of us take what we can get. And most companies waste time with fake jobs. I graduated from university of calgary as a cad citizen and it was near impossible to find a job. It took me 3 years to get a job because most companies would rather hire immigrants for cheap than hire local new grads. I eventually had to resort to lying to land first job.
biggest draw back is for change of our generation values. every one cannot afford islamic school. secondly though islamic values are taught , but not the style, we parents used to follow in our country. it is different. then our relatives and cousins and our previous child hood life and similar interactions ,all missed out. that missing out is big thing for emotional loving nature people. i have spent many years in dubai and since many years i am here, living in canada . i will not suggest to come here, if one is well settled in Pakistan . second option after Pakistan should be dubai. dubai is still close to our country. one can be there in 1-2 hours . canada is quite far. apnou ko chor kar itnee door ana ,bawakofee hae. apney puranee logo sae zindagee hotee hae. do not leave that.

She is wrong again. For wealth accumulation job is not an option in Canada. Business is the only option. In business, providing services is an amazing line. You can also save taxes so much. Poor employee get taxed instead, but not the business. Dubai is very bad in the long long run.
