⛵⛵⛵ Hello Everyone, Watch best sailing vlogs on youtube by subscribing to our sailing lifestyle channel here bit.ly/SailingY...
Welcome to this week's episode of Sailing Ruby Rose!
In this episode we sail from Hopetown to Green Turtle Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas. Unfortunately when we decide to take a short cut it all goes wrong and we end up aground...
⛵ About Us: This is us, an #Aussie girl and a #British guy and for some reason, we’ve become completely obsessed with the idea of sailing around the world and sharing our experiences and information through our sailing lifestyle videos with others.
We met travelling around India, and quickly agreed that rather than “settling down” and doing what most normal people do, we wanted to travel and adventure instead and started our sailing lifestyle adventure stories, since then, we’ve been working hard towards achieving our dreams, and now we’re finally living them as sailing cruising lifestyle!

When entering the shallows, it is really nice to be in a Southerly with its wonderful swinging keel! I feel more comfortable with a helmsman that admits they can always use more practice and experience. You two do have a good workload balance while cruising.....very nice video....thank you.

You guys always put out the best quality videos. I love the subjects you cover and how you present your viewpoints. I have been truly loving your music selections of late. How do you choose what music to use, because while I'm watching I keep thinking of how surprised i am at the selection of songs. I think that if I was shooting the video myself I would have used some other music. But then as I listen I think of how much better yours fits and moves into the scene. Peace guys hope all was well on your crossing.

Good job at the helm! Who cares if you ran aground. It's great experience as long as you still have the bottom of the boat! Ü Dan over on UMA did the same thing with his gal. I think he even let her sail overnight and didn't give her any help. He pretended like he wasn't there and she did GREAT! PEACE OUT! Ü

Beautiful water!! Nothing wrong with a gentle running aground....it happens, specially in the Bahamas. So funny how excited I get when I randomly see other Hans Christian 33’s in videos. Wonder if I know the owner?!😅🍻

Therese, I know you've had comments about your crooked sunglasses. Basically, you have one ear slightly lower, which is your left ear. Im the same, what you can try is bending your left eye glass side upwards, slightly and then they should look always straight. good video by the way as usual.

Another great video! @4:44 looks like another great advantage to having a lifting keel. How deep was the water there? I can't wait to see your ARC crossing footage. The wind direction on windy.com looked like it was all over the place a few days ago? Safe journey guys!

Said fondly: Few heads are totally symmetrical. I joke with my optometrist that if I had a little plastic surgery to level out my ears, he wouldn't have to adjust (bend up) one earpiece every time. Storebought sunglasses? Nick can fix that for you. Good hands, slow pressure, just a wee bit at a time.

Thanks for sharing! So beautiful, Learning curve - last Saturday in prep for the sailboat races myself and an another rookie female went to raise the main sail, the halyard made to the top without the sail. I was so disappointed in myself! Good news my Captain took in stride and the subject became Haylard retrieval on a S2 7.9! Hope all is well in real time! 👍👍⛵⚓⛵👍👍

I’ve been on three boats that ran aground (at the helm on one was given the wrong info)by far the hitting of a soft bottom vs the sudden stop when hitting rocks was nothing in comparison. $$$

As the saying goes... poopie happens! (channeling Nicks youtube friendly language) You didn't break anything and you got to learn a wee bit for it, next time less poop. Beautiful color on the sea is the whole area like that? Some day we'll have to go there and find out for ourselves.

When your in shallows, leave your keel down just a few inches below rudder and prop depth.... It should be the 1st thing to touch ground before anything important. With one hand on the wheel and the other on throttle and your spotter up front,, your in control at all times. Tip taken from Distant Shores 25 mile run across shoals 1.5m or less in the Bahamas .....😎 Do you have a Drone? Nice video👍👍👍
