It kills me, too! Some of the best videos I have watched, are from small channels with few views. Or, the video will have a lot of views but should have so many more views(10k vs 100k

I think jesse is tragic mainly because he never tried harder to find something else in life he was good for besides the constant emotional abuse he receives from walt. He is someone desperately looking for a place to belong. He feels unloved and unwanted, he has abandonment issues, he feels worthless because of his upbringing since his parents failed to meet his needs when he was younger and seeks to fill that void desperately trying to relate to others, gain their approval and feel accepted. He is completely dependent on others because of this lack of love he didn't receive in the first place. There is this lack of dynamism in him not wanting to improve his life for lack of positive feedback from others in his life and this also explains his immaturity. He's internalized that he's a good-for-nothing due to his parents' emotional neglect, which is why he self-destructs and thinks he doesn't deserve to be loved. He idealizes Walt and the two complement each other because being together is how they find meaning in their lives and he derives satisfaction from it despite Walt treating him like crap. The business is also a way for him to express himself creatively and have that sense of accomplishment (of being good at something). He has potential but he was never able to really exploit it because he resigned himself to being a junky, a drug dealer. And he lacks agency because he depends too much on others.

You should do more philosophical breakdown on Bojack Horseman. Your voice and storytelling is adept for this!

Building off what you said in the video, I like to think we enjoy watching tragedy in heroes because we know that in real life, there is no such thing as a life without tragedy. We form empathetic bonds with a piece of fiction, as other humans have amplified our views on what represents real people through their writing acting and even music. We can feel empathy for even a fictional character.

Although not necessarily a tragic character, silver (pokéspe) experiencing tragedy is why so many people root for him. Silver was abducted into a cult at an early age, never knowing his parents, growing up and escaping with a friend, and searching for his father, after she found her parents, only to find out that his father is a man worse than the man who abducted him. Basically he falls into a depression, deciding that he's destined for the same kind of life as his father. Throughout his search for his father, the dramatic irony is real. The reader wants silver to succeed, even though the reader knows that he won't find happiness. While it's surprising that pokemon has a character written like this, pokespe is far grittier than the games.

you know, if i had a nickel for every time a character played by aaran paul plays a harmless yet tragic character who gets used by an ego obsessed anti-hero, id have 2 nickels which isnt a lot but its weird that happened twice

Great video but you need better titles and thumbnails my dude. If I hadn't watched your BCS Videos first, I would never click this if it was in my recommendations. (It wasn't, I imagine because of the low click through rate)
