TEDx Talks

Күн бұрын

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. At TEDxDonauInsel, Carina Schmid spoke about the impact that intercultural encounters can create and the struggle it takes to break out of a conventional mindset to adopt a lifestyle of practical learning and creativity.
Leaving Europe for the first time at the age of 19, Carina had no idea that a short trip to Africa would change her life forever. Back in Germany, she started dedicating more and more time to intercultural exchange opportunities. With her friends she co-founded The Global Experience, an award winning youth media network that has until today reached out to over 20 million people through educational and intercultural media and has allowed over 500 young people from 50 nations to go abroad.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I am inspired by Cari's statement where she says school has never made her who she is today. Great experience with other cultures has made her discover who she is. Powerful presentation Cari!

cari talks greatly. i keep pursuing my goal which is graduation, but life keeps pushing me down while i keep pushing forward. so i am almost rethinking about how really important is for someone to graduate in order to succeed in life and therefore be happy. actually it's the first time i doubt about the path i am on.
