In the campaigns only Peter Obi showed an understanding of how to address the Nigeria problem compounded by Buhari. Nigeria is in a freefall and thinking that APC, the causes of the freefall will be the solution is simply stupid. Nigeria has enough funds to turn its trajectory without extra borrowing and to do that these 3 things need to go hand in hand. 1- Stop oil subsidy, encourage local crude refining, start developing all resources, increase power generation. 2- Make corruption treasonous with an aggressive punishment being public hanging (not reimbursement of some of your loot). 3- Reduce cost of governance by pegging emoluments of Public office holders to the minimum wage. Making sure that the highest doesnt exceed 10X of minimum wage. What do I mean in 3 above.... Salary of president (10 x minimum wage). Salary of Vice president, House speaker, Senate president (8 x Minimum wage) Salary of Fed high court judges, and heads of MDAs (7 x minimum wage) Salary of senators (Sitting allowance only 5 x minimum wage with benefit difference from house of rep. Salary of Ministers and House of reps members (sitting allowance 5 x minimum wage). Only president , Vice and foreign dignitaries move around with a convoy and escorts. No more benefits like Cars for Senators... use your private cars. Bring this disincentives to governance and watch the Nigerian political class focus on the private sector (creating jobs) and fighting for the increase in the peg rate / minimum wage. A successful president will be one that will attack all 3 aggressively....Not someone who will attack 1 but let 2 and 3 slide. This is the fundamental difference between Peter Obi(who will attack all 3) and the rest like Tinubu( who will attack only 1) and Atiku(who will attack only parts of 1).

The trade union and Labour union are just as complicit in the matter as the Government. Since the protest of 2012 when demands were made for the subsidy return, the Labour unions tend to go back to sleep only to have a knee jerk reaction whenever there is an increas. What we have seen in 2023 is a gross omission by the unions. The PIA was passed and the budget announcement also made the plans to remove subsidy clear but what actions where taken to proactively engage and hold the government accountable to provide palliatives and all the initiatives being discussed now? None. They can’t be acting like freedom fighters at the 99th minute when they have had these many years to engage and force an action by the government ….it’s just ridiculous

CNG comes with its own cost. The only way it will become palliative is if the auto gas sector is declared as a strategic Sector ; and Gas for CNG sold at $1 per MSCF .

The two proposals are laughable if we are interested in developing this country. The resources of this country is for the present and future generations, not for political office holders and a few personnel at various levels of governance. The concern should be on human resources of the nation and infrastructures.

As much as I am enthusiastic and hopeful for good governance from this new administration, I can only take them seriously if they cut down reasonably on their cost of governance, both at an individual and collective scale; they have, so far, not shown any indication of their readiness to inconvenience themselves or sacrifice any luxuries that come with their office; they remain a greedy bunch of jokers who do not deserve a bit of our respect as long as they maintain the status quo.

ASUU should be cancelled allowed university and other higher institution to be manage by a private company .....and remit a particular percentage into government ministry of education.....this money will be allocated to found project , school fees, monitoring, supervision, standard and security will be under federal ministry and students union will have a say in the ministry and in school running.....Asuu problem will be over.....student loan will work out..... management company 2 yrs license renewal will be voted by students of institution they manage
