Oh Hans, I really needed to learn this today. I'm sick 15 years and 100 % bed bound the past 6 years. I'm trapped in this bed because, my government don't send physiotherapists to your house and there is only one full time clinic where they rehabilitate you. They pay for it if you get in, I am not eligible according to their rules (physically I am!) and I just can't pay for private calls from a physiotherapist. To get into the clinic is hard because you need to have had a stroke or be over 75. I don't qualify so now, my body is just skin and bone. I don't know how to re build my body, so I can walk again. You're correct! Abuse is not karma and you didn't deserve it. The idea of karma is basically like the law of Moses, which says if someone hits you then you get to hit them back or, in karma terms, if you were mean to someone in a past life then they get to be mean to you in this life. Jesus called people to a higher law, which was to NOT return evil for evil but return evil with good because like the old saying goes, "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind". If someone is cruel to you, they are accountable. Not you. It isn't your fault! Because even IF you were mean to someone in a past life, all of us are called to forgive, not seek vengeance. Imagine a person saying "ok, you hit me when you were 5 years old in the last life, so you have to reincarnate again so I can hit you when you turn 5. That way you can be taught a lesson on why hitting is wrong and we can balance the scales." That would be absolute nonsense, as well as revenge-seeking. Abuse is always wrong.

There are children in this moment who are under the age of 3 (of course some are older) who are imprisoned in walls and chained, not fed much food, sometimes they have to eat their own stools. Many are beaten and have been imprisoned for years, many die in emotional and physical anguish. Perhaps your view is that these are reincarnated people who were cruel in past lives and are “relearning” in their present lives. I personally do not have that view. Please tell us how you would advise these children (or any young suffering children) how they are to stop suffering. Thank you.

And that every person who is going through it now has choices - even 1 month olds. These are hard lessons to learn. I spent much of my younger life feeling there was something wrong with me, and really taking the things that happened to me to heart. It was the slow process of realising that I am a spiritual being having a human experience that really started to shift this. Also looking into the positive aspects of the bad experiences to lead me to a better place was quite amazing. It is doing the internal work and seeing this for yourself is what is so important. 4 years ago when I thought I was abandoned by somebody I couldnt see the fact that it was a kind of preparation for my mother's death! indeed at that time the suffering was so fierce that I kept crying every day for a few years..for this so-called loss of a loved one, he didnt die but just left me..well now I see that I didnt feel so wretched after mom's death..I cried suffered missed her etc but my heart endured and realized it was not a loss..why? Because I had that terrible experience before and some divine force or rule taught me to feel balanced again through this extreme suffering..that time it was really very hard for me to cope up with this and keep my heart alive until my body showed signs of illness!! Now I feel completely in balance and dont exaggerate anything.Everything is part of the divine power even the negative events..so no need to worry

one time I was on a beautiful bike ride, very meditative and communing deeply with spirit, I came to a hill and as I biked up it all I thought was wow this is such good excersize, god this is going to be so fun to ride down :), and I didn’t even realize what I was doing until I reached the top, that by thinking in that way instead of ughhh this hill is so tedious why, I completely negated the bad feelings and replaced them with joy, and I think back to this moment alot, that that simple unconscious shift in perspective made a usually unpleasant experience one of bliss, through hope, by knowing it doesn’t last forever and by knowing that I can have as much fun and joy in any circumstance if I just allow myself to.

As a 14 yr old my mother died, leaving us 4 siblings with a strict father. I raised my 9 yr old youngest sister, forfeiting my teen years to make sure she grew up properly and later in life was the caregiver to my father as he aged. I also was the one to support my younger brother through his crisis as an adult. I never married because I felt emotionally burnt out from all that I did for my immediate family. I always wondered why I was chosen to be the family caregiver… or what type of karma caused this?
