East and West, North and South, regardless of race, sex, gender, colour, religion, ethnicity, nationality or any other category, we are all made of stories.
Stories bring us together, untold stories keep us apart.

I never forget, when I was a student in METU, one American professor said that their country is very sexist, classist, and racist. I remember how he emphasized the fact that their economic inequality is patriarchal and white supremacist. So it's true we need to focus on the universality of women rights. But what I don't understant is why popular media continually reinforces the misperception that only Islam restrains women by overlooking the fact that many vailed women are pioneering doctors, lawyers, or architects. It never focuses on Western scarf bans that not only take away from the veiled women the freedom to choose how to dress, but also prevent them from partaking in Western cultures. Western notions of gender equality always force muslim women to choose between expectations and their faith. Still, and paradoxically, they are lecturing us about feminism!!!

This is time that all the rights, Hope and efforts of Afghan women are being erased and die in history and the world just watch!!! I never felt this much helpless and hopeless. We were fighting just to have the basic rights as a human but from now on Our identity as a person will be taken away from us!😞

She said solid and liquid lands. İ guess, she wanted to point out that in some peoples perspective or perception, western countries are solid lands= related to stability, womens rights etc. and on the other hand, the liquid lands, like turkey which has not a constant stability related to womens/minorities rights. İ guess she wanted to especially point out that every land/society is more or less liquid/unstable, when it comes to the rights of women/minorities, as we all can see how the violence during pandemic crisis has increased every where and that we should be alerted and have an eye on each other, no matter in which country we live. Cause we need to empower each other, when times get rough.
