Mr X Electronics Man, great explanation in this kind of circuits. Thanks for your time in order to explain this kind of topics.

Very nice explanation. How would I calculate the resistor and Transister needed for a 12V DC motor?

Cool vid man. The 8 turn ones drive me nuts haha. I finally sorted by resistors by e value because I got sick of breadboarding circuits so I just solder them now and complex circuits are easier to check if there's a problem

Mr X Electronics man, 2nd question: Why don't you make a DC motor speed controller using PWM (pulse width modulation) with constant volrage and a 555 timer? I would love to see it. Please make a video! Thanks

Hello there, nice video ! can you better explain why the 0,7v being stable are any useful ? i don't get it. Thanks !

5:43 Why did you choose to use a high side switch with an NPN transistor? (low side switch is typical for NPN). It means that you will need a higher voltage than the motor requires in order to turn it on.

@@XEMC I guess I'm just not used to see a motor being controlled in an emitter follower configuration, but I do see your point. To further clarify, I would say that it is not amplifying the voltage, since that is being provided by your potentiometer, instead it is buffering the voltage due to its high impedance input. However, as the voltage at the base increases, the output current increases, so it is amplifying the current.

So using the pot alone to control speed varies the voltage too low? And the transistor helps keeps the voltage normal but abd speed is instead adjusted by the current?
@XEMC Жыл бұрын
Potentiometers can produce variable voltage but they can't provide current to run a motor

Potentiometer will smoke if used alone

@@XEMC ah but can you vary the current flowing by varying the voltage?
