I love the fact that neither of these companies has a minimum. So you can primarily work for one, once in a while work for the other, and you can still keep your contact. If one goes downhill you can just open slots with the other.

I'm so glad you explained! I was really wondering if something had happened to you. What you said makes sense. I applied to GoGo, was hired at a great rate and then never opened a single slot, because VIPKid took off for me at that exact time. I also didn't like the point system GoGo Kid had then. I didn't like that my salary would be tied to something I couldn't control, like teacher IT. I would lose points and then have to make them up to regain my salary. Maybe that has changed, since it's been almost 1 1/2 years since I applied. Anyway, I'm glad you're happy!

I'm just getting started with both companies and was wondering if I was crazy keeping VK even though I make substantially less (7.50 base) there than at GGK (8.3 base but already level 5). Completely agree with the points you made especially about the industry being insecure. Really insightful video man!!

I started working with Qkids + SayABC....SayABC paid a LOT more but they rarely booked me. It sounds like the VIPkid and GoGoKid schedules work well together (when booked)

Hi Mike , i live in South Africa, we got something called load shedding where the government switches off our electricity at home on schedule or when needed ,if i booked a class at a certain time and something happens like during a class and they switch off, what can i do its not my fault, will i get penalised.

How does GGK’s technology compare to VIP? I ask because I’m very impressed with VIP’s platform (all their apps for different devices).

The technology is fairly similar on a desktop/laptop. GGK has more tech issues from class to class in my experience. GGK also just released their app and I only just started using it so no opinions on that yet

I didn’t do a ton of research to be honest. I chose GGK because of word of mouth endorsements from other teachers I trust 🙂

I just was hired on with GoGoKid about 7 days ago after a year with VIPKID. I am still in the learning phase. I am trying to figure the whole plate form out. I am confused about stars and crystals. I thought they changed from stars to crystals now but then I still see starts on the slides. I'm confused. And I can't find a video out their just explaining the basics of GoGoKid...wish I could. I know all the pay stuff, how to get hired and all that. I want to know about do we give Crystals or what. I just taught my first class and it was a core...why did it say she was 1 on the phone app but she was really 10. lol. Then how will I know if and when I get feedback? I can't find it on the new phone app or on the web program. lol. Just trying to learn.

Hey! I think crystals are the reward but stars still show up in the lesson content. Apparently 1 is the default of the child hasn’t entered their Bday. I thought the same thing at first. As for feedback, you should see it in the teacher portal homepage when you receive some 🙂

Just figured out there is an arrow on the left side that you can collapse them. Someone really needs to do a video of all this stuff. haha. For us VIPKID people. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t go after the raises with VK when they are there for the taking? I started at $8 base 2.5 years ago, and I’m now at $9, and will reach $9.50 this year. GGK offered me $9.50 which turns into $11.88 but on my next contract I will take a major cut. VK has always been the biggest earner per class for me, but I will keep GGK as a back up.

You can’t “go after” the raises with VIPKid. If you meet the requirements through the algorithm you will be automatically be assigned a raise. and that can only happen once every 2 contracts. For a number of different reasons I simply didn’t meet the requirements for a raise

@@MichaelVenn You most definitely CAN go after them. Just make sure you've taught 1200 classes, 600PPT's don't over sleep, don't cancel too many classes, get 25% feedback. It's not hard. If you're splitting your time between 2 companies it can make it harder. But I would think, someone like you who has a video channel and such would average more than 100 classes per month..

No. Because you are an independent contractor and not an employee you are free to work for whoever you want, whenever you want

I was working for gogokid for 6 months then quit due to slow to no bookings. I was considering applying to EF. Do they have consistent classes ?

Annmarie Smith The classes are fairly consistent because you can be booked up to 5 months at a time with the same student. However, you may also have cancellations or no-shows just like with other companies. EF is different in the fact that they are not much of an edu-tainment company. They are more traditional and relaxed. They allow the teacher to determine how to teach. I enjoy having an edu-tainment company as well as one that isn’t.
