Hello! Thanks a mil for this! I am new to teaching online. I have a bachelor's & a master's degree in Theatrical Arts. I have only taught adults in person on-the-job. It wasn't English, but job skills. I did just get my TEFL certificate. I am looking to start out working parttime at home because I believe I will love teaching children & I need to supplement my other income. I am older & looking for something that I can continue into my 60s, 70s. I too am looking to stay away from the 9-5 & having to go out every morning to work. I am looking to begin with VIPKids. I guess my main concern is ensuring that I have all of the technology & teaching supplements set up in the beginning. I want to get off to a great start, but I don't want to go crazy buying supplies I don't need. Thanks again! Stay well!

Thanks, this is some great new info for me. I am wondering though, if you mention that you work for another ESL on-line company, basically they are all competitors to each other, how to these companies view that info? Is it a good thing to reveal you are working for a competitor?
@onlineteacherdude12843 жыл бұрын
Hello! It's totally fine! We are independent contractors. It actually only helps your situation - all the companies know that teachers don't just work for 1 - we work for multiple companies...all good!

Unfortunately that is their #1 requirement - US or Canada. You could try other companies?

Chinese ESL companies are all closing and phasing out this week due to new regulations in China. They all required a bachelors degree, mostly. Except Cambly...they might be a good option for you. I have videos about them on this channel.

I work with Qkids English and they are awesome to work with and pay very well. My last 3 months income was 1926, 1271, and 1505! I would argue that Qkids is the most flexible online teaching company. You can cancel a class all the way up to 5 hrs before class starts and it doesn’t count as a teacher absence. That’s amazing if you have kids yourself because you know emergencies are bound to happen. If anyone is interested let me know! I would be happy to help you through the hiring process!
@onlineteacherdude12844 жыл бұрын
Thanks for leaving a comment. With QKids, the base pay is rather low at the moment, but I agree their cancellation policy is good. I don't like that they require a minimum so for me, they don't work but a good option for others.
@JentasticVintage264 жыл бұрын
Online Teacher Dude I don’t consider 20.00/hr to be low, but that’s just me. The minimum is 12 classes a week. That’s only 6 hrs per week.

I’d like to know does zebra English offer like evening classes from let’s say 10:30-12 am on Fridays and Saturdays? I’m seeing a decrease in my night bookings and it was bothering me. I’d like to try something with this schedule. Magic ears is a possibility but they don’t correspond with the times I’m available Year Around. So what can you tell me about zebra English?

Hello, thank you for this awesome video. I have recently been teaching private English classes as a native speaker within a foreign country, however, would prefer to apply to an institute. I should have my TEFL certificate by December. My question is do most of these institutes require a bachelor's degree or simply native English. Thank you for your time in advance

Hi Jen, yes, most of them do. If you are private teaching would you consider doing this online as a freelance teacher? Yes, most companies require a degree.

Hi, please read carefully on the site when you click the link that it says "Your discount has been applied and you will see it at checkout". You need to click "Add to Cart" and you will see that it is $19. They are using a new system and the discount gets applied at checkout.

How come no one is relating the fact that subscription to the TESOL is $19 but then you have to pay for each additional course or exam? There are a total of 10! Not okay! I am looking to start working to get paid, not start courses to pay with money I don't have, be in debt...
@onlineteacherdude12843 жыл бұрын
Hello, not quite sure what you mean. The TESOL that I have a discount link for is $19....there are no additional courses or exams you need to take. Its $19 end of story, that's it. Please don't be paying anything extra , there is no need. I think you are misunderstanding something.
