Why would I BUY a 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA?

Get it ceramic coated and a clear bra to protect the paint. I got mine done and it's a whole lot easier to clean and harder to scratch. I just hit 3400 miles on my STI and I will be keeping mine stock too because of my 100k mile warranty.

@@deathflashx089 yes but if you want to keep the clear bra's self healing abilities you can only put about two coats of ceramic on it. The rest of the car, if you didn't get the whole thing wrapped can have more that. Mine has 5 coats of ceramic.

I’m glad you made this video because I wanted to hear how you went from a 2015 WRX STi, to a Civic Type R, to a Focus RS, and after all that, back to a WRX STi Type RA. I had a similar experience with my 2016 WRX. A certified preowned came along at just the right time and I've been extremely pleased with it! A dream car to replace my previous dream car (a 2004 WRX wagon in WRB). I found a buyer for the '04 within the Subaru community and am very happy to know the car is in good hands and going strong! Just traded my Evo X for a Type R. I can see why it wasn’t for you. You can get a lot more out of AWD when it comes to straight line performance and nothing powers out of corners like a AWD car. It’s a good time to be a enthusiast. A lot of options. Like you I plan on keeping the Type R mostly stock as it’s near perfect from factory. Sad to see you and the RS part ways but I can’t blame you at all Joe. One of my all time favorite cars is the STI. I was close in 2016 but I talked myself out of it much too my chagrin. Had a Wrx and sold that and landed in the RS. If the economics were right I’d be driving an STI. Enjoy it Joe and I’ll live vicariously through you for a while. I’ll own an STI one day as long as Subaru ups there game in a significant way.

I love this Raiti! I too look inside my garage and can't believe I have a Type RA. It has only 1500 miles, which means I dont really do much with it; only admire it inside the garage. Kinda wished Ive waited for the S209 but still super happy and grateful for my RA.

Welcome back to the subi family, I've been considering going back to the subi fam myself, miss my sti hate to say it, theres a lot of negative stigma around the sti because it's not modern but that's what makes the sti incredible, it retains that raw driving experience, the EJ motor despite the negative stima around it so so well refined now, I always think about going back to sti. I agree with you about not modifying the car. I have a lot of respect for people who like to mod their cars, but for me it's a chore. For years, I owned cheap cars that required lots of constant maintenance just to keep them running. Now that I'm older, I like to buy newer performance vehicles and just enjoy them and maintain them properly. I also agree that blue with the gold wheels is the best combination.
