nice review, but Sam, c'mon... that interior had the rare option of silk seats inserts made by the italian fashion house ermenegildo zegna. Thats like $10,000 option and you didnt show it or mention it.

As much as I love the brand, I think they lost their magic after FCA affiliation. They're trying to ride on the name by giving sub par products. They should have been neck on neck to Porsche but in this market range, Porsche is still the 'better' brand.

Italians make the best CARS. I didnt say the best tablets, i didnt say the best gesture-controlled stereo, i didnt say the best self-parking or self-driving software (which are made by third parties anyway) i said the best CARS. The funniest, best driving and most rewarding CARS, the type of car you cant help but turning your head and look at it one last time while walking away from the parking, and cant wait to drive next morning. For those in seek of features other than BEAUTY and DRIVING PLEASURE, there's plenty of other brands to look at.

I like the Levante, I really do. When the spot light was on the Bentayga, it never drew me in as much as the exterior design of the Levante. But I just wouldn't buy one, given the choice to. The interior doesn't grab me and that's where we spend most of our time.

We dont have the diesel in the states. I test drove one a couple months ago and my god when those valves open up it becomes a complete monster. Loved it!

Range Rover is just the king ... I think the best way to understand why would you not buy a Range Rover is to watch a Grand Tour episode with the Jaguar F-Pace, Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover... and the Range Rover is very common on the UK, but in continental Europe the Range Rover (not the sport) isn't as common as in the UK.

I much rather spend more money and get a Porsche or a Range Rover, because know Maserati is really disappointing, why would you put a v6 in a Maserati? Why would you put all those cheap plastics? The only model that is a real Maserati is the granturismo and the Grancabrio, in my opinion

the odd thing is these "bad" models will hopefully get some cashflow going in the company to get their products where they are supposed to be. They are not sitting around at Maserati HQ but cash is tight. Curious about their hybrid/electric powertain models from 2019 onwards.

I'm thinking of buying a 2021, 16k km, petrol. Comes with a 1 yr service and warranty contract. Many have warned me that the car gives a lot of mechanical trouble and is expensive to maintain but most who say this, don't own one - so the question to owners - what's been your experience?

I live in the USA where we have the Levante S. Great truck, but I decided to go with a Maserati car (GT MC) rather than the SUV. It just did not feel like a Maserati. I think we have way too many choices in the segment.

Local Maserati service location advisor suggested against it. They have been several issues mostly with the infotainment. I guess hold off a model year or till a refresh.

The Maseratis do use the Chrysler UConnect infotainment system which is good in the sense that it's one of if not the best system on the market. However, it would kind of suck when you fly somewhere and you pick up a Chrysler 200 at the airport car rental only to find the same infotainment system in it lol.

I drove the S version and the engine is nothing special. You feel more power from a Macan gas with 360 hp than this one with 440 hp. I have no idea what the turbos configurations are, but it lacks punch. You hear a lot of engine noise, but the Levante doesn't delivers. I went for a Cayenne Turbo instead for the same price.

Just one tip...NEVER wash an expensive car...or any car for that matter..with a high pressure washer. It will ruin the paint in the long run, especially on an Italian car.

Does anyone else get a Volvo S90 look from the front, and Mercedes GLA look from the back with this car? Beautiful looking car, but I'm not sure about the full spec price tag. Should be a little cheaper if it wants to compete with other luxury SUVs. Cool black and tan King Charles Cavalier btw. I've got a tricolour, and they're awesome dogs - if a little dopey!

Which one is the car wash at 2:40 ish? The Maserati is looking so much better than the ugly F-Pace. As for the off-roading, get the Maserati for the style, luxury etc and also get a Niva with some pocket change to throw around into fields etc without worrying about trashing it.

Idk about other places but here in Dallas, TX I see the Lavante and I think "oh there's a ghibli owner who wanted an SUV". I don't see them as special. I'd personally rather have a used g Wagon or a Range Rover, they're just more sort of status symbols I guess (as well as I think they look better)
