It's nonsense like this that is why I'd never serve. It has nothing to do with Trump vs. Biden.

20 years US Navy and one of the reasons I retired was constantly being told I needed "sensitivity training" because I disciplined everyone equally within my command. This was 13 years ago and it's only gotten worse since then. Yes, treating everyone the same makes you an "ist/phobe" because you have to give all of the "protected classes" special treatment and leeway when it comes to enforcing the rules ... but go ahead and treat the straight, white men as bad as you want because "reasons". In my opinion one of the watershed moments for this was changing the PRT standards for women ... because they couldn't meet the same standards set for the men. So women could get higher marks with less effort which gave them an advantage when it came to advancement. I participated in a qualification drill for the base Fire Department and one young lady (5'1" and about 110lbs) passed even though she didn't actually complete the drill which was carrying an unconscious victim (me 5'9" 190lbs) to safety (add in approx 45 lbs each for FFE) ... she dropped me down a flight of stairs resulting in a six inch gash on my shin, oopsy. Now of course I have to add the obligatory "Not All" since there were two other women who passed with flying colors (one of whom set a new speed record) but that still begs the question ... who's going to take responsibility when she fails to meet the standards in an actual fire and kills someone?

@@yucol5661 When you're in an emergency situation everyone has to pull their own weight. On a typical "hose team" you'll have a nozzle-man who controls the nozzle, two hose men (one with a thermal imaging camera) and a "plug man" who controls the valve. But more important is that every qualified person has to be able to switch out for any job. If the nozzle-man get's overheated or runs low on air then you rotate out. Additionally, saving people trapped in the fire is priority number one so if any member of the team can't pull their own weight (no pun intended) then you're basically one person short. This isn't like an office job where being short-handed is annoying, it's people's lives in the balance. When I was dropped I was conscious and wearing protective gear ... but an actual unconscious victim could easily have died from smoke inhalation during her struggle to get me to the stairs or broken their neck falling down them. This is NOT the time and place for "diversity" it's a meritocracy pure and simple. As the old military saying goes ... Lead, Follow or get the hell out of the way!

Any emergency crew knows that the unqualified or unfit member of the team is a liability. Lowering standards invites ineptitude. Even outside emergency crews... professional sports teams don't lower standards to get more candidates - they keep the bar high so the team is successful and isn't hindered by an unqualified player.
