Why You Crave A Cabin In The Woods

I've lived in a cabin in the Finnish woods by a lake for nearly four years now. It is hard, especially in the winter, and it can get lonely if doing it alone. It is also lovely now that the spring is here and everything is bursting with life. I absolutely love the peace and quiet and the beauty but there are very challenging down sides to this as well. :)

very nice. we've moved in the forest for some time, and this year we've been out in the town and saw actual people like twice, not missing it. we've traveled extensively before, but now is the best life, simple life in our cabin in the first. cheers !

love this video, I think you've summed up the experience quite a lot of us have very well. I guess this feeling of having to "run away" form everyday life is increasing in so many of us because life has become so much more busy in the recent years. Your video is beautifully shot and was fun to watch! But you didn’t go into WHY we crave that life (which you said in the title). I was expecting a little bit more from that angle to be honest so I was a little disappointed.

Fair point! I do think I could've dug a little deeper into areas such as the human psychology around it. I think for me it comes from a place that wants to find proper peace and stillness which is so rare in the modern world. It's a bit of a primal urge to get back to basics. I'll try and go a little deeper on the next one ✌🏼
