Why you dont buy the cheap slim HID xenon ballast from ebay, buy quality instead!

Taking a look inside two almost identical xenon ballasts, but as you can see there is a big difference in build quality. The cheap one gives a tacky blue light, and the other one pure white. Both are from ebay, but you get what you pay for!

I have Chinese hid kits that have been working without problems for more than 6 years. I have bought bosh that have lasted only a few months, I think that is a matter of luck and that they do not get moisture or water. In most cases they can even be repaired because the components that fail are extremely inexpensive and there are times when they are silently broken by vibration.

from my personal expirience from that ballast, works ok for some months but after that starts to flicker a lot, dimming alot compared to a brand new or other type of ballast, the color of the light tends to be blue or green compared to other ballasts with the same bulb , other ballasts cost 25 euros each and that cost 15 per pair with bulbs included , the cost to take the more expensive if you want to invest on something better than halogen is not a big deal (if you manage to maintaine and use a car with your money) , also there are 15-20 euro leds with zes chip by far superior to color and comfort lighit and most importantly they dont brake or dim that easy.

Ballast with black sealing inside is AC ballast. You can see 4 transistors creating H-bridge for AC power inverter.

i dont know if i said it in the video, but now i know that one was dc and one ac. But sellers can sell the dc and advertise it as ac, and very few people will ever know. :)

The expensive one definitly is better. But you get what you pay for. And when you buy a 10€ ballast and it works, you should be happy.

Just because they are from Ebay doesn't make it shit. Do some research first before buying. The slim Ebay kits are usually all shit. You want the AC fat metal ballasts that weigh a half lb each.

Next time you want to evaluate quality of something be sure you know thing or two about it.. rambling about how shiny wire is or something looks more black and other not.. LOL.

Don't even buy chinese or aftermarket ballast. Get the oem ballast and just pot them yourself. I retrofitted TL projectors into my car and the bulbs are driven buy an oem Denso Ballast. 6 second warmup and fires up every time. Just make sure you use a relay.

I run led bulbs in my cars, and iam not going back. There is alot of good ballast coming from china, but if you buy the cheapest you will end up with garbage like this. Iam not saying the "expensive" one in the video is really good, but its night and day compared to dc ballast.
