Why You Hate EA

Couple of corrections in your video. Star Wars Battlefronts the OG's were not published by EA but Lucasarts and developed by Pandemic. The OG Battlefronts were also inspired by a Battlefield 2 Star Wars mod as an interesting fact. Thus Pandemic worked with Lucasarts to make the Classic Battlefronts to make a their version of the Star Wars Battlefield experience. More corrections; when Disney bought Star Wars from Lucas. They handed the exclusive game rights to EA. Not only that Disney is also in hand for damaging the brand in the last decade since it's purchase. In addition to that I want to add on something with the Star Wars EAFRONT games, not really on topic with EA. The biggest issue with EAFRONT came somewhat with DICE after their decision to make the game completely different from that of Battlefield and more a kin to Call Of Duty. There's a huge lack of freedom and depth that the EAFront games had due to limiting the sandbox to where there are one man vehicles and more like a cinematic rush mode than conquest. What do I mean by that? The original Battlefront 3 was going to have space to ground battles, where players could freely travel between space and the ground and the battle could affect either. Imagine getting into a gunship, one of your buddies piloting or you and you could go to the space battle looming above or travel down to the ground freely and drop of your troops. Or let alone vehicles that house more than one person to encourage teamwork. Or multiple vehicles in a battlefield like tanks or starfighters in the air providing air support. There is none of that in the EAFront games (or barely any of that.)

Yes thank you. I think the most important one is the first one that I sort of glossed over. I should've gone more in depth about how Lucas Arts actually published the Battlefront games, however the main point was for people to realize there were more features in a game that had come out in 2015/2017. Anthem had so much potential. I loved Wild Hearts, best competitor to Monster Hunter thus far. The problem is that EA doesn't make games for gamers, they make games for shareholders. I grabbed FC24 from Game Pass because I get the itch to play a soccer game from time to time. Was enjoying it well enough, despite them removing some of the best features of FIFA 22. Then got to the end of my player career. I had done, I had met all of the objectives and would sign with Bristol City as another stepping stone to Manchester City. NOPE. As I would advance to the end of the season the game crashed. I tried this about another 20 times. I tried doing all sorts of things before advancing to see if it would work. Nope... the game is done. I didn't have it in me to play through another season in EFL League 2. I uninstalled it and just had to curse EA's name once again. All they do is develop and publish games for loot boxes and card packs. Everything is just ignored.

Thanks for the video! I totally agree with you. EA's hyper focus on microtransactions have soured me on nearly all of their franchises. I still remember Mass Effect 2 being the high point of EA/Bioware for me personally and I was so letdown by Mass Effect Andromeda that I stopped buying most of their games unless on an extreme discount and mostly out of morbid curiosity in how far their franchises have fallen. All of our heroes have fallen. Blizzard, Bioware, etc. We should never accept subpar and buggy games from AAA companies. In no other industry is it anywhere near acceptable for a product to not work half the time. I feel like when I see a new game and check who made it I often just sigh and say "Well, that company USED to make good games." When a game is designed around microtransactions, it changes everything about it. Companies always pursue a profit, but there is a good way to do it and a bad way to do it. EA is earning billions, but in a terrible manner.

You're absolutely right! Companies like EA, CD Projekt Red, and honestly Rockstar at this point are all falling. Blizzard fell years ago, and EA's been dead. Hopefully more Indie companies get some recognition soon, because AAA gaming has been absolutely abysmal the past 2 years.

​@@MisterzzYT In all honesty, it is because of hype marketing driving the games rather than good time management. We've all read the horror stories coming out of various gaming companies over the last several years and to be perfectly honest, I'm not surprised at all. Insane crunch time, skimping on QA testing or rather what appears to be outsourcing the game's QA to the players by releasing what twenty or thirty years ago would have been a PR nightmare is a plague that is affecting AAA games now. The whole we'll release it now and fix it later attitude is a symptom of bad management and lazy developmental practices that is eventually going to bite AAA companies in the backside. I really, really hope that gamers on a whole are starting to wake up and finding that this is unacceptable now rather than defending these practices. CDPR caught lightning in a bottle once with The Witcher 3 and with that they earned player's trust. Cyberpunk drove them to madness because they got caught up in their own hype machine and because the players were so rabid for an AAA company that appeared to listen to them. They let us all down big time. I was already wary of all of their promises. I still haven't purchased Cyberpunk to this day and I'm not so sure I ever will. Indie games are what I focus on now because that is apparently where all the passion has gone. All of these yearly franchises are tiring to keep up with and they seemingly lack the heart and soul that once made good games. Sometimes a game doesn't need a sequel to come out next year or at all. Just make a good game. A classic is good forever. We still talk about how amazing some SNES RPGs were to this very day. A series that comes out every year is soon forgotten and replaced by the new shiny.

@@typhir5911 This is the exact reason I made this video. I find so much passion in games like Stardew Valley, Valheim, and so much more. These are genuinely amazing titles with absolutely gorgeous art styles. But the sad reality is, 90% of gamers will never get to experience them because they most likely don't even know they exist. Instead, they'll see a trailer with flashy lights and be convinced that the company publishing the game poured their heart and soul into the game, but in reality, we get a game like Battlefield 2042 or Call of Duty: Vanguard. Sure they're popular, but most if not all of the people that play the game can't genuinely say that it's one of the better or even best games they've ever played. Plus, I imagine the owners of said companies wouldn't be extremely fond of selling the company, at least not yet. Naughty dog would be fun though. I'd finally be able to replay Uncharted on a PC. I don’t really understand the hate for DICE as they are at EA’s mercy. They have no corporate power and only develop the games to the best of their ability. EA deserves every ounce of hate, but I feel bad for DICE because they got dragged into this mess by EA. P.S. I also don’t believe BFV deserves the hate it receives. Sure, they dropped the ball on content and the single player wasn’t exactly the best it could’ve been, but other than those things it’s still a great game (gameplay wise). And EA also forced DICE to stop development on bfv early so DICE shouldn’t be blamed.
