My therapist was saying procrastination is actually an emotional response to either fear of failure of the task or fear of not knowing what you’re doing!! This video was so helpful 🥰

My problem is that I keep procrastinating. I have a really big ego so oftentimes I sit down to study a day before the test and keep thinking that I could ace this easily by not working too hard. But, during the test I keep feeling guilty about not studying because some of the questions just fly over my head. I really have been trying to get rid of this problem recently because I know it is effecting me and my mental health. Thankyou for releasing this video, it really inspired me.

this is literally me. All my life I've been the biggest procrastinator and only studying the night before my exam. I still do well regardless but then feel guilty knowing I could have done better but now it got to a point where I don't care that I could potentially do even better, as long as I pass and do relatively well it doesn't matter that I studied the night before and because of that I'm starting to question if I even know how to study because I seem to have zero work ethic. Currently trying to develop a new mindset towards studying and my academics in genrally and hopefully work to reach my highest potentail because I don't think I have ever given my all in anything in my life, especially not in my education. For once I would like to know what would happen if I try.

When you know you are gonna be studying or doing any other task for a good percentage of you life, it indeed is necessary to make it more fruitful and easy to approach. And to do that most important thing is to know the real actual purpose behind why you are doing what you are doing. And another thing is having a long term goal oriented system than short term goal oriented system , it will help you slowly to reach a flow bc your goal is quite far away from you so work slowly but consistently that's gonna help you build a good momentum so you slowly but surely reach your target . Just my views. Wonderful video Faye!! Enjoyed it 😻😻👍

Thank you so much i used to be stuck in high school not studying for exams not paying attention during lectures and getting the worst scores and not even care while being drained out for motivation and feeling bad at the end of the day for scrolling through my phone for the whole time while knowing I cant do anything to change these bad habits but then I started to realise how hard my future will be if I continue like this there's so much stress filled exams during the future and thay are very important for me to even have a clear job aswell so in that moment I started to study more up to a daily point and watch exclusive videos on the Internet about education and watching tutorials on how to further improve my study routine this video hellped me a lot and made me motivativated and aware of the hard ships and how I definitely need to improve my mental and physical health thank you so much I would still be stuck in high school while stressing about exams but know when studying I always enjoy it especially when knowing about how much new things I learnt and that I'm having benefits during such small periods of time thank you a lot this channel is very underrated❤

Thanks for the video. I still hate learning. I tried comping back to it and was like - "nah, not again" (background: 10 years of education, 4 years college as electro-technician, 6 years as automation engineer). Wish I had spent those years meeting girls and friends! Turns out you are young only once in life. Hey, I am now 35 and I have a degree. Always studied hard. Never had time for girlfriend, never had time to go out with people who liked me. What makes it sad for me is that the few times I was able to attend a party, people actually seemed to like me. I would start games (like one time I started a major water-gun fight on the campus) and girls would flirt with me. People would ask me out, but hey - I can not go, I have a chemistry exam in two days and an assigment in differential calculus to hand in! So now I have my stupid degree. I walk around alone. Nobody knows that I have this degree and nobody cares. Mind you, some kids in my class had time for everything. They would just pick everything up in class, they barely studied and they passed all the tests. I have ADHD, so after class, I had to rewrite everything so that some of it remains in my stupid brain. I have a buddy who did military - wish I did the same. He has a job now and some cool stories to tell. Somehow everyone want to know what it's like to surf a fucking submarine, but nobody wants to know the fluid dynamics of tomato juice in a venturi. Weird, right? Sorry for the rant. Hey, if you like your education - best of luck. If you dont, well, just giving you a heads-up. Maybe you will end up liking the job you are in. Maybe not. Being alone sucks. If I had a second go, I would make a bunch of friends and get a girl I could share my life with.

take it into chunks, 12 hours of constant study just for 1 day making it out like you can't enjoy your day makes you hate it.. 2-4 hours a day is enough. Thinking 1 day of super hard study is going to make it easier when you can have smaller chunks, it prevents procrastination, just say "i am going to do 5 minutes" and watch how just starting has made it so much easier to keep going, that little effort everyday is how you succeed not 12 hours straight where you don't even want to study again for another week. And if you may need extra just add an extra hour or so, just know what you are like- learn when is best to study, when you get tired during the day rest in those periods. know how your body functions and your brain is scared of failure and is tricking you and feelings are only temporary so just start and you will overcome it. :)

I am currently in my 4th year of Pharmacy, I am an active person so studying in one position for a long time is difficult for my posture. So I love watching 'study with me video's while I study (such as StudyMD) with neutral music, then on my breaks I step away from my desk and put a song I love on and dance or do stretches. In this way I am moving my body and it elevates my mood. I know this doesn't work for everyone but I found this got me through long study days. ON a plus side it was exercise, boosted my confidence ;) and I always went back to studying in a happy mood. Also I study best at home for sake of comfort like making tea, and snacks. But I found it effect also to have a planned library/coffee session with a friend for 2-3 hours max, Otherwise I would get quite tired. I hope this helps ✨ Good luck for all your exams.

Dear Faye!🌸 Thank you so much for being so real! I also hate studying but I could never explain what is the reason behind it. When you mentioned the "feeling of stupidness and helplessness".. nailed it. I can't get over this I am losing motivation to study every single time. Hopefully it will change now that I realised this. Thank you so much for showing us the reality of a student who has greasy hair or acne, and not just the perfectly over-romanticized side of studying from Pinterest. It makes me feel less lonely

I have an exam in 9 days and I’m not even fully prepared yet. Heck I still need to revise notes. I try to enjoy it but I’ll be honest, I HATE studying. I DESPISE studying to the core. And my mom is the literal worst. Instead of motivating me, she just always dances on my head forcing me to LITERALLY study all day and all night. I’m not joking. She forces me to stay up till extremely late in the night and study. I have no clue what to do.

I'm really happy you exist, you know? I have been going through a really tough time - haven't studied in months and my mood is totally depleting! But I'm not giving up. I searched 'I can't study' or something like that to, for the first time find a KZbinr and actually seek to watch them. I never watched ytbers related to my own experiences (just mcraft people XD) or for enjoyment, and I'm so grateful you came up. Your experience is real and human and it really chipped at my perfectionism, letting myself accept that I don't like studying sometimes 😂You are someone I can relate to, and make things I struggle to understand simpler, and actually feel like I'm not alone. I want to add "getting inspiration" to your list of things. I watched a movie on not giving up and that hella inspired me! I didn't expect it to, but I felt reslly good that I wasn't alone in a really awful experience. Social/connection is so important to accept how you're feeling, and that it's okay. Again, thank you, really grateful for your video, you're really amazing to me ❤ My study tip: make mindmaps to connect topics! So satisfying to connect it when you get it!

If it feels really boring and mundane, that probably means the rewards are astronomical. Humans biggest weakness is instant gratification. We lived in an environment where instant gratification was the most reasonable course of action in the past. Nowadays, boring tasks is what gets you ahead in life.

my problem is that i dont want anything, and this causes me to not have a driver to do things. I have simple job to pay my rent and go to work that i dont like but its easy to do and secure, and thats it, i work only 4 days a week. I just dont understand i like to read books and study new stuff, but why i dont do it all the time? Well maybe its just easy to lie in bed and chill and play videogames, idk. But studying also creates dopamine and the books too are satisfying, but the lack of driver, something to move you, and i think stress, person needs stress, like he has no other choice, to study 👌

I like studying too! I love trying to understand a subject’s content before the teacher even gets there. I’m usually quicker than my teachers in studies. I hate waiting for them and listening to them explaining deja vus. Let’s just say that sometimes the subject or even the teacher of that subject can influence your interest level on it. There are many subjects that I enjoy studying. I’d say that my favorite one right now is biology, which most of my friends find challenging. Sometimes, the course’s content can also influence your motivation level in that class. Right now, chemistry and math are all about deja vu stuff for me, so it’s kind of boring. In contrast, the stuff learned in biology class is mostly new. Thus, I may find biology more entertaining than other courses. Sometimes, people hate studying because they don’t understand the course content or because they aren’t interested in it. Another turning point are the grades. Honestly, I don’t care about my grades as much as I used to. Grades are just a letter or number written on a sheet of paper by a human that don’t mean anything. In fact, grades are not representative of your academic capabilities. What matters are the mistakes that you made during a test rather than that red number on your paper. Let’s say that you got sick or weren’t feeling well or due to some personal reasons, you weren’t in your usual mood or shape and got a bad grade because of that. Can you say that you aren’t good in that subject or that you didn’t understand the teacher’s explanations? No. Thus, are grades marked on your paper representative of your true potential? No. What I’ve learned through the years is that calmness brings happiness. Thus, not thinking about that stressful number while studying also brings happiness and enjoyment.

Would really love to see an in depth video of how you study: do you take notes? or use a specific study method? I made the mistake of literally rewriting the notes I was given, not summarising that much. I know when I get into med school there is too much of a workload to do that, and besides it isn't really that effective. Hence, why I just wanted to know how you do it? :)

Hmmmm...12 hours a day is "not dedicating all life to study". If you can spend the rest of day , which is 4 hours, on yourself, you need sb to do laundry, cooking, shopping, paying bills while being alienated from family and friends

Hi Faye, I am currently a medicine student in France, and I relate to literally everything you talk about in this video ... 🥲😅 To make my studies a little bit "spicier" I try to change scenery (home, library), working with people or at least surrounded by people studying is a game-changer (it has been a week since I last studied with people and I can see the difference ....), and the last thing that helps me sometimes, is just getting ready and taking care of myself, like putting on some make up, even if I'm just going to the library, juste try and feel good to start the day ... Anyway thank you for your joy and enthousiasm you are fresh air 🧡🧡 So glad I just discovered your channel (so many videos left to watch !!) Mad
