We've been back here, in GF, for 9 yrs now and we are loving it. Course, we loved it in the early 70's. We never left the state, but lived in very eastern MT. Billings is too busy & expensive, right up there with Bozeman. Good hospitals, decent stores, things to do.

Great Falls is a Big City, shopping I live in a little town of 121 people. Just a few houses and a big beautiful Church. You have shopping, you have the necessities and that wind, I love that the air moves around. I have moved all over the USA, Great Falls is a banger city/town. Count your blessings.

I'd push back a little on recreational activites. It just depends on what you want to do. We've got 10 museums with rotating exhibits, a great symphony, an active library with various events, poetry readings at a local bookstore, and a new theater troupe. But, like I said, it all depends on what you're looking for I guess.

We recently visited for a possible job relocation, we love the outdoor rec opportunities, but we were a bit shocked by the amount of casinos, it was a negative in our opinion.

Chinook winds out of north make greatfalls cold windy Esp gore hill airport can be knarly for sure Black eagle as well

No matter where you go , there are always the CONS to go along with what you may consider a PRO, there nowhere that absolutely gives you 24/7 euphoria..
