Dr. Cherian Karunapuzha explains how drinking a glass of water when you take your levodopa helps "flush" the medicine from your stomach to your small intestine, where it is absorbed. Drinking a glass of water and taking your levodopa on an otherwise empty stomach will ensure that more of the medication is absorbed, giving you the full benefit of the levodopa.

I cannot say enough about this simple instruction. For 13 years I have taken my carbidopa-levodopa dry...yep, no water! I have wondered why it always took so long for my meds to kick in. Well, now I know. Empty stomach + large glass of water resulted in my meds kicking in more quickly & lasting longer, I feel like a new person! TRY it.

Yes. Take your medication with a full glass of water. It's is absorbed in your intestine, we need to move it to your intestine. Exercise, eat sensibly, and (try to) get a good nights sleep. one hour before or two hours after eating with full glass of water... I heard/read that carbonated liquid helps absorption as well.. true I wonder?
