@@georgiadog0077 Gamers are indeed delusional and thirsty for content. That's what let publishers releasing games as early as possible with as much hype and as many pre-sales as possible. This results impossible deadlines for developers and unfinished games forced onto the market, because - you know - the executives want to maximize their yearly bonus. So next time when a release is delayed don't start whinning, don't let publisher's marketing push you into a hype wortex and don't buy any game before release. And if the developers fixes bugs or any mistakes after release at least try to handle it with less toxicity.

I think this is the ONLY game that released utterly incomplete and broken(RIP Anthem), only to have dedicated Devs that stuck through, delivered, and then over-delivered with additional free content. I don't even play this game anymore as my job has taken over my life, but if they released Paid-for DLC, I'd buy it just to support the team. They're seriously the best. The ONLY company that gets a pass for the early release BS. They more than redeemed themselves.

Starting playing recently and love it! My "it's this but this" take is: - It's the space exploration and fleet mechanics from Elite Dangerous but much simpler and less laborious, trading realism for fun. - It's the base building from Fallout 4 but with more beautiful and varied vistas. - It's the space-race lore of Mass Effect but less detailed. - It's the resource gathering and crafting systems of Minecraft but trades blocks and tables for elements and technology! Overall an epic combo of features, if you enjoyed any of the above games then check it out!

Actually, the game lore is fascinating and deep. Like any good and ancient mystery, you have to explore and build on it, putting intriguing clues together. It doesn’t lead you by the nose. After getting started you can choose your goals and styles when and as you want. It’s incredible and ever evolving. Hello Games has continued to put out updates and enhancements FOR FREE since its original launch. The VR play is amazing. It’s clear to me that you are not a long time player, especially of more recent updates, so you have a lot to enjoy discovering. The NMS player community is vast, active, creative, helpful, and a major asset of the game.

@@thecodenamenoob4042 : there have been many, many additions and changes you will want to know about. I recommend visiting the Hello Games web site and watching the brief trailers that came out with each update. That way you will have an idea of some of it. You have to watch all of them to see some of the smaller pieces, like the pets, frigate claiming and building, and the cooking, that are not obvious and not mentioned often. There are also the patch notes, which will take longer to go through if you read all of them. Several players have very helpful KZbin channels with tips and walkthroughs. Survival Bob has just started a new walkthrough of the Interceptor update with 30 minute episodes. I also recommend Xxiou Gaming, Xaine’s World, Captain Steve, Jason Plays, Beeblebum, Moose Gaming and others.

@@635574 exactly, I believe that is one of no man's sky's larger issues, but since it isn't a pvp-based game they don't bother. A larger issue I think no man's sky makes is ignoring the smaller details of the game that make it more immersive, such as clunky hitboxes and the destruction of objects such as larger pieces of space rubble and resource deposits, and making one large thing, such as a tree all act as if one area of contact effects the entire thing ( and nothing around it), which all contributes to a lack of a sense of realism within the game.

It's definitely worth getting... the game is AMAZING. It's basically what most space sim fans want in a game: - Warp, Fly, Land, Walk, Drive, Creature Ride, Swim on any planet, throughout countless solar systems... explore everywhere in 3rd or 1st person - Find scorching planets with volcanos, toxic infestations & rain, freezing tornado blizzards, and tropical paradises with stunning night sky or with lightning. Even has meteor strikes! - Dive in caves and find mysterious objects or dig your own den to avoid the dangers outside. - Meet aliens, discover their culture, learn their history & language, help them with missions. Discuss opportunities or places to discover. - Discover strange monsters including sandworms & dinosaurs, black market traders and crashed derelicts as you travel across an infinite space. Capture the monsters and use them as pets to help you on your journey. - Build bases anywhere with multiple floors for anything you want. Teleport to them with ease and store resources as you explore the galaxy - Setup the electronics in each base with lights, switches and proximity sensors. Party it up with your new light and sound show or setup electronics to open automatically like your own space show - Cook meals for you and your guests with crafted meal receipes from animals you herded yourself. Enjoy the bonus from eating various ingredient combinations - Trade throughout the universe; buy stock items and warp between Space stations, Airports and minor settlements to make money - Or become a fighter and hunt traders, other pirates, or the law. Use an emergency jump and get the hell outta there - Get an Aircraft Carrier to store your Fighters, Haulers and Exploration vessels. Customize the floating base with your own personal rooms and equipment. Trade with aliens that land in your new Mother Ship, or buy their ships out completely - Build up your fleet of Cruisers to protect you and the Carrier. Send them out to various missions and reap the rewards or suffer the damage from mistakes - Land directly on the Cruisers of your fleet and gather their profits or explore their engine room to repair the damage - Upgrade your Carrier, ships, vehicles, guns & backpack with better shields, weapons, and storage space. - Join multiplayer in all of the above and blow your mind.

Bases don’t really have much of a use once you get a freighter I think. Base building can be a bit annoying with terrain respawning and plants- you end up putting them on stilts. They’re annoying to teleport back to and as you can build storage modules on freighters and can get tech to allow you to access it wherever you are bases become something you build when you find a nice spot and then forget about. edit: i appear to have caused quite some controversy

It's, by far, the most creative fantasy-end of the space sim experience. However, it's also one of the most casual. This is also a good thing but certainly will make older, more veteran players wanting more. Even the fairly high tuned mods can't fill the void (litterally and laterally speaking heh). If Star Citizen is the most core feature space sim, then NMS is the exact other end; content rich. When you start to miss one, remember this!

1. better if it was only 1000 planets but with lots of unique items and resources to search for on each one. leaving you needing to go back and forth between them to collect stuff for crafting and upgrading. and unknown resources, that you pass by until, learning reason to seek them out. 2. The suit development should be set up for every body part, plus more unique spots and an expandable accessory section 3. combat engine's wide open for sprinting, dodging and cover fighting, use of grenades. ex.- come up on 10-20 aliens at a base with guns guarding resources and a random treasure like parts for a certain ship. The terra forming could be part of the much lacking combat too! 4. the ship dog fighting should have jukes and thrusters involved as well and a few more weapons. 5. make it a bit more gritty graphically, instead of constant cartoon color, add more atmospheric noise and popping highlights 6.MOST IMPORTANTLY (As with all open world games)- The story should have several breaks in it where a great number of resource, money, ship/base building or character development is inquired to progress at different points, leading players to have to go off and really explore and cultivate, with purpose, in order to progress! instead- (30 hours story, endless base crafting and 18 quintillion planets, no connection between them... give me a break🤷‍♂)

I agree with you mainly with the graphics, aliens guarding resources, suit development and stuff like this that makes the game more lively . If all is cartoon colored, becomes boring. If the game procedural engine is competent and includes your concept, a gritty and cartoon graphics contrast would make the game richer.

It's an excellent game when you first start exploring it. Absolutely worth the money and the time. But unfortunately, like so many other games, once you've reached a certain point, it can become pretty boring. Once you have more resources than you can spend, there's realy no point in getting more. And once you have a strong enough ship with which you can win every fight you pick, there's no point in fighting anymore. Even the in-person fights on the planets become very easy once you get the hang of it. Despite the fact that it has excellent procedurally generated content, there will come a point when you have basicly seen it all and the only differences you will see, are in the little details. So if you're looking for a game that keeps challenging you to get better at it, than this might not be your cup of tea. But what keeps me coming back, are the graphics and the build system. I love flying around the galaxy, hyperjumping to different starsystems to see what kind of planets they have. And when I find a beautifull one, I get creative and start building a base. The views one can create in this game, are absolutely superb. What also keeps me interested is the fact that this game continues to keep growing. Helo games realy pays attention to the feedback of their community and they have skilled developers, so there's enormous potential for greatness.

Instead of releasing an unfinished game , and then patch it till it was playable. Like most do. They still released an unfinished game (boohoo on them for that) But then did what mod makers usually do , add cool content that enhances the experience. Not only improve the game performance or stability. This is something I always wondered. You see games where mods make the game sooo much better , and I’m not talking only about graphic mods. Like literally content mods , adding gameplay mechanics , ease of life mechanics , relationship options , dialogue enhancements, even entire side quests in some cases! And wonder , if normal guys , at their home, with their relative limited access to tweaking the game that modding gives you , can improve the game so much. What could developers do if they , the big that developed the game , worked on adding stuff natively to their game? No Man’s sky is the answer to what could be done. It went from a boring piece of shit of a game , to the amazing game it is right now. Not every planet is the same they have different looks, some are all water, some are cavs, some are getting hit with asteroids, some are full of hazards and you can’t stay on long, some are overridden with creatures, and some have hostile sentinels that constantly attack. The only time you start to see the repetitiveness is after like 15 planets or so and sometimes some planets have so many resources and things on them one of the perfect planets you can stay on that planet for like a whole 15 hours. The only way you’ll find the repetitiveness in the planets really fast is if you’re looking for it by just going from planet to planet and system to system really fast and not even actually adventuring each planet and actually stepping foot on them only just flying through.

This game became something completely different then I was hoping for. I had hoped that discovering planets and life forms on them would be central to the game. But all the planets look alike, the animals and plants on the worlds are not related to each other at all. It is a game with many sliders, which keeps tapping out of the same barrel. It's too busy in space and that's why you don't feel like you're exploring alone, or discovering planets yourself. What I would have liked to see was REALLY different worlds with different gravitational forces, elements and evolutionary creatures and environments connecting everything together, so that making each discovery within a world provide more and more information about the planet. Everything is disjointed and the focus has been on trading, building and owning starships or other vehicles. All those factions you encounter in space were a bad idea in my opinion. Space should have been almost empty, and civilizations should have been confined to just individual planets and solar systems. If I had made a game like this it would have been much more complicated. This is just child's play. With far too simple sliders that lead to anything but logic. If you don't focus on logic, you can put whatever you want into it, but no world will ever make sense. And that's what's going on with this game. Thousands of hours of programming time spent on it, and nothing that makes sense. I think it's wasted time and a missed opportunity.

Once you play with VR you cannot go back to 2d. I bought PSVR 2 just so I can play game in VR. First I played with PSVR but it was severely limited due to ps4 so I took brake until I got ps5 and psvr2.

I find the point about the story lacking, considering NMS has one of the more brain-twisting meta-narratives. And though I agree that the method of conveying such a grand story through text can be seen as counterproductive it is absolutely worth following. For those interested - the main sources for the story and lore are: 1. Main storyline (duh) 2. Expeditions 3. Numerous story-rich side quests 4. Abandoned terminals in infested facilities 5. Boundary Failures which are giant, circular machines found on Glitched/Exotic worlds 6. Remembrance terminals which are accessible after the main story 7. Ancient Monoliths which are found randomly on most planets 8. Giant server towers which tell different stories based on the type of faction that is controlling the system you are visiting If you like motives of existentialism, deus ex machina (literally god in the machine, not some sudden unexpected nor uncalled for plot twists), divine psychology and coping with upcoming apocalypse using hope, I very much suggest following the story.

I'm here trying to figure out why anyone thinks they're comparable titles. To compare Starfield to this is pretty ridiculous. It's like comparing call of duty to Grand Theft Auto because they both have guns.

@@AverageGameReviews I just subbed to you. I’m interested in watching that! Right now I’m on the Fence with purchasing an Xbox series X and Starfield. Probably in the future. I’ve got 1000’s of hours into Oblivion, Skyrim, and some of the Fallouts. I think Starfield will really shine in the future after updates and fixes, and when the modding community takes over.

”space exploration game” - procedural generation makes the notion of exploration meaningless. you can not discover something that was not there to be discovered but was barely generated.

A few (ok plenty) of corrections of incredibly wrong information on this video: 1. The main quest is delivered by narrative, you talk with 3 or 4 characters (one of which you are looking for) and up to the end that is how it goes. It doesn't have an end because (this is so since day 1 so not a spoiler) if you "end" the game you are just sent to a NEW galaxy) 2. The story is actually interesting because it explains the "plot holes" in the game 3. Crafting is way more basic then minecraft. You just select what you want and "craft", no need to put things in a bench in proper order or what nots. Also, most things can be used raw. 4. You cannot mine the whole ground, only a few metters, and IT IS NOT PERMANENT, it WILL reset back to original after a few hours of playthrough (basically you have a limited amound of edits) 5. Only one material is exclusive to space, and its almost never used (platinum) 6. You don't really need to stock up resources to go out exploring, specially on non extreme planets where the atmosphere will wear you down 7. Not all systems have space stations 8. The so called ingame economy is useless and nobody cares, you will buy/sell without looking what is high/low. Money in NMS literally grows on trees 9. You will never be poor if you know how to play, you will have enough to buy everything the game has to offer 10 times over in 100h play 10. Your first freighter is FREE, and their prices are not high. Also, they are only useful as a space base. 11. You will never need to repair a frigate if you don't send them in literally suicide missions 12. Nobody does the multiplayer missions in groups, everybody solos them, it is even faster that way 13. Space battles are mindnumbing easy and you will often beat 5~10 enemies without even losing your shields 14. Your squadron can only GET IN YOUR WAY, they do no damage, bump into you all the time and stay in front of you, most experienced players don't use them. 15. You will only ever use the mech exosuit (And no, not really that great for battle), or the hovercraft to traverse distances. They are weak and mostly used to travel fast. 16. Every planet is different, but the same. Same minerals, same enemy mechanics, same dangers. So its more a visual gimmick. There are even only 3 different hostile plants. 3! 17. You will still use up dozens if not hundreds of hours just to check if all I said is true =p

Generative IAs would upgrade the NMS world, since NPCs to events in galaxy and solar systems to make this lively. This lacks in the game and is what you say.

Played it for a while. As you said at the start, the story in this game is somewhere between a tutorial and an afterthought. And without a story to progress the whole game becomes kinda pointless. Like sure, I can farm and manufacture myself into the biggest, prettiest ship in the game, but what's the point? There is no villain to murder, no princess to save, no reason to have a cool ship or a big base or even a lot of money. Wish this game had a point of some sort.
