The only thing I wish was different was your squadron, fleet and freighter defense AI. They can’t hit anything and are mostly useless. Really adds to the “you’re alone” feeling even with being the leader of an interstellar megalopolis.

Don't bother spending much time on foot collecting ferrite, sodium or other basic resources. Hop to the local starbase and buy it there instead. It's dirt cheap and saves you a ton of tedious work. This includes di-hydrogen - you can't buy that raw, but almost every station sells di-hydrogen jelly that you can unpack with a refiner in seconds. At every star system with a functional starbase, you can buy a suit upgrade at the exosuit merchant. You can also do this at the Anomaly's exosuit vendor - and it also resets in every new system, so you can actually get two suit upgrades instead of one every time.

fighting sentinels on the ground and getting glass usually gives a good amout of nanites too, fought sentinels randomly for about an hour and got 50 salvaged glass and after opening all 50 got about 20k nanites worth of sentinel class upgrades, not too bad.

I think for me what is holding me back on No Man's Sky is the amateurish graphics (quack). Starfield has them beat for sure. Therefore, NMS is not a buy for me.

i really hope in the future they would add civilizations to be generated on some planets that are not within reach of the sentinels. With complete quest lines, lores, cultures, npcs. it would completely up the game to a whole new level.

FYI, the crew 1, before all the police, monster trucks and ridiculous updates came in had great simulation handling, to the point where everyone complained that you couldn't play on "simulation" because it was uncontrollable... it wasn't uncontrollable, it was just realistic enough to need to know what you were doing, but still acadey enough for it to be fun. But yes, they ruined it, and the crew 2 and motorfest are still pretty bad by comparison. Forza is ok, but they confuse realism for poor control, limiting wheel turning speed and angle for controllers, which transfers to steering wheel limitations as well. Cars will understeer when trail braking instead of oversteering because it doesnt account for front to rear weight transfer and braking friction. You can teach yourself to work around it, but if you actually know how to race it's annoying when a car doesn't act correctly when it pretends to be realistic. NFS Shift 2 (like The Crew 1) unleashed also had this good balance of arcade vs simulation that forza, GT, the crew 2 cant match. I blame the influx of console and controller users, instead of everyone just buying wheel setups like they should.

It really is far far from perfect. It is an awesome game, but they are missing so many things. 1. multiplayer missions are just fucked over 50% of the time. We start a mission and then it just fails to load, fails to progress as we do exactly what is on the screen. My group of 4 players actually stopped play NMS because of this. 2. The game is all about starships, flying and fleet commanding and yet the thing you build the least is STARSHIPS. Just a bunch of presets that don't even come close to being cool for console players. 3. the update to water actually ruined so many places. 4. The game lacks any sort of substance. There is no point. Even getting to the center of the universe which took me weeks of gameplay only to find you actually can't get to the center. There is nothing at the center. How on earth do you miss out on such an opportunity to make a massive planet and let players all make a base and build a huge world? 5. They constantly throw you into fighting you don't want and when you do it just doesn't hit right because the fighting isn't good at all. 6. Friends are limited at everything. People in party are limited at everything. People want to play together. This game encourages playing together except when it comes to really playing together. Sure you can party up, but you will still be alone the whole time. All this being said, the game is still fun, and I still play when I am bored of everything else, but this is nowhere near a perfect game. I think the developers know this and are waiting for Light No Fire to put all these things in as Light No Fire reports have a lot more collaboration with your friends according to reports.

In my opinion this game was more than worth the asking cost in 2018. Since then its gotten dozens of new updates. FFS, since this video came out, they added proper fishing and new bio hazards! If you were even remotely disappointed in Starfield than try NMS because its what starfield wishes it would be.

The dreadnoughts that you sometimes find in pirate systems are just cooler looking freighters, and defeating them will give you the option of seizing it for free, every time. If you decide not to leep it, you get around 7 million units and 500 nanites.
