One thing I wish they would do on the MacBook's like they do on other laptops, is upgradeable storage. I don't really need to worry about storage that much on my framework laptop 16, because even though my primary drive is only a 1TB SSD, I can always add a secondary 2-4TB internal drive for a fairly cheap amount. I remember when I saw someone using a macbook with an external SSD dangling off of it for their music production, because the internal drives can barely hold any space. Of course, in music production its mostly industry standard to use external drives anyways, but the point still remains. Dongles really are not an elegant way to add storage to your device post-purchase. So it would be really neat (probably would never happen) if they added break-out panels on the device to allow you to upgrade the RAM/storage kind of like on the old 5k iMacs.

I would love to work exclusively on my Mac Studio's SSD ! Unfortunately I need at least 12 TB...

Actually there is a cheaper solution. You can go with the 1TB (never go under) 2TB is nicer if you can but that's enough. Get yourself a nice SSD pouch that you stick to the back of the Mac, and be sure to get a 90 degree angle cable, I promise you it wraps around super nice, nothing will dangle, you won't feel anything, at all super portable and convenient for when you want to quickly swap between SSDs/projects.

Bro, I thought you’d have 100k subs base on the quality of content you give out. Very underachieving channel. Love from Kerala, India

you have a point and I get that. But I can live with a 1TB macbook for the next few years OK I believe. What we can agree on: Base Models bad

For sureeee. 512 just isn’t enough for people who use it for HEAVY work

Bahaha! Your videos are hilarious bro you really hit the nail on the head. I watched your 14” or 16” vid then this one. Haha I feel the same way about a lot of things. I burst out laughing when you start making the claim for 8tb 😂 And then you zoom in on the screen and it says “29gb of 8TB used” Hahaha! Keep these videos coming they’re hilarious. It’s like “Confessions of an Apple Fanboy.” I love apples stuff I have way too much of their shit. I go through all of this shit buying their stuff. Making all these stressful decisions. We all do. But then getting really passionate and happy with my decision, really standing by it. So I totally get it. 8TB though is quite a stretch lmfao. I like these kind of vids lol. Subscribed

I like your videos and the practical approach you are talking about. But I think 8Tb is too much (for me), considering the outrageous prices Apple charges. People who do video (working on movies etc.) might need this amount of storage but won’t they go for a Mac Studio in the first place? ( maybe not 😅).

I just magically happen to see this video and I feel and understand everything that you are talking about, however persons use the Macbook pro machine differently if its a Video Live stream or just post production editing you do maybe you need the 4 to 8tb storage, if you are working with 2 computers or with a team of editors and you need to move around files from one machine to the next for small production house that don't own a server for backup then Yes! In your Case you mentioned long hours of Recording that mean in your case you need it! However the main reason why everyone or persons in the creative industry is afraid of the large internal storage is because they fear the computer crashing not that it will because it is a man made item of course, but " WORST CASE " if something happens and you need to run a quick formatt of the drive or re install an OS and softwares the project is safe and not stuck on an onboard flash SSD storage. It sounds nice to have it! but that "WORST CASE SITUATION " is the major reason why people buy portable drives are for short term workflow and then later on back up on a bigger drives like a G-Raid or Western Digital drive. Im a video editor and I can tell you SHIT HAPPENS! But if this 8tb works for you Do it! You would have had been fed up with how your workflow is and your taking action! Just. make sure you have a Backup 8tb so there is a smooth Damage control when needs to! 🙏

Personally, I think the 36GB MAX with a 2TB SSD is a great option for 95% of users. 1TB just quite isn't enough once you start really using it!
@tecctruth3 ай бұрын
Yeah it definitely is. 8TB just allows me to dump entire 4K 120fps weddings on here, record stream for 5hours at a time on obs etc.. without having to use an external drive immediately.. really not for everybody tho lol

8 terabytes is simply too much money to risk on a machine that can and will fail.
@pf477324 күн бұрын
By posting you created a business expense out of the computer---good for you. Just make some money using the computer and you can write off maybe 20-25% of the cost. 8 tb is too large a storage for most of us because of the expense.

lmao I wouldn't even trust someone that has 8tb hahahaha I wish I followed your line of thought, I'm on my way to get another Sandisk external SSD
