Interesting, I had the 16" M1 Pro MacBook Pro for the last 3 years and while amazing laptop (screen, speaker, battery), this time I went with the 14" M4 Pro MacBook Pro because I missed the portability. I don't take it outside as much for the 16" because it's just too bulky and trying to carry it around the house too especially one handing it was just way too bulky. I think if you're using it on a desk and you don't have external monitors due to limited space the 16" is perfect but 14" is just the overall perfect size to carrying around the house, lounge around the house, carry it around with one hand, and taking it outside with you and docking it is just perfect. I am a software engineer that work mostly at home so I use my MacBook Pro 100% of the time spent hours and hours coding. When I do go away from my desk that is normally docked, I hope I won't miss the extra screen real estate of the 16" but so far I've tried it the last couple of days the 14" is still perfect for coding. For some reason typing is much more comfortable on the 14" to the 16" so far that I've noticed and trackpad feels about the same. Love the 14" the portability and screen size is just so perfect.

Actually there is a cheaper solution. You can go with the 1TB (never go under) 2TB is nicer if you can but that's enough. Get yourself a nice SSD pouch that you stick to the back of the Mac, and be sure to get a 90 degree angle cable, I promise you it wraps around super nice, nothing will dangle, you won't feel anything, at all super portable and convenient for when you want to quickly swap between SSDs/projects.

the 14 is aiight, but the 16 is just better overall, if you match this up to its pc varient the 16 is still lighter, not to mention u get fiull power unplugged and extremely crazy batt life, it actually makes sense now to have a sleeve for a laptop....

really wanted to see how osmo holds up against iphone's "normal" lens and not only the 0,5 lens in low light

I think 14" is the best of both worlds with an external monitor.

I decided to go with the 14" because I bring it to school everyday and need its compact form factor, also I already have a very nice dual monitor gaming setup if I'm working on anything at home. I like to use it mainly for doing things on the go or just to chill and watch content. So I'd recommend anyone who's planning on using your mac as your only computer to get the 16" but if you're like me then go with the 14".

I initially ordered the 14" and the 16" to compare...I realized I have the machine hooked up to 2 ultra wide monitors so when I needed to work remotely that screen real estate was SORELY missed!

Hate the keyboard /trackpad on 16 inch. My hands kept hitting it while typing. Deal breaker for me and sold it. Missed my 14 inch which typing was so much more natural and comfortable.

All comes down to what you shoot, camera settings and post production. I personally like how more natural the 4 looks.

By posting you created a business expense out of the computer---good for you. Just make some money using the computer and you can write off maybe 20-25% of the cost. 8 tb is too large a storage for most of us because of the expense.

in lowlight you can see the 5 better but doesn't look good , I used the 4 in light 100% of there time and it looks better then the 5

This hdr in osmo is so bad

iPhone 13 Standard user here. iPhone did pretty good considering its age and that it is not the Pro version. Action 5 was better in almost ever shot been thinking about getting one for my motorcycle. I have trouble understanding how iPhones are supposed to be able to make movies but how do you control light flare when there are no lens hoods for phones and low light? Don't get me started on the weird light that reflect inside the lenses even on the current 16.

I upgraded from version 1 to 5Pro, and I must say, it's a huge step forward. The image quality is excellent, it's incredibly fast and intuitive, and transferring files to my mobile phone is probably 20 times faster. I'm really satisfied!

One thing I wish they would do on the MacBook's like they do on other laptops, is upgradeable storage. I don't really need to worry about storage that much on my framework laptop 16, because even though my primary drive is only a 1TB SSD, I can always add a secondary 2-4TB internal drive for a fairly cheap amount. I remember when I saw someone using a macbook with an external SSD dangling off of it for their music production, because the internal drives can barely hold any space. Of course, in music production its mostly industry standard to use external drives anyways, but the point still remains. Dongles really are not an elegant way to add storage to your device post-purchase. So it would be really neat (probably would never happen) if they added break-out panels on the device to allow you to upgrade the RAM/storage kind of like on the old 5k iMacs.

as I age I have to tell you. small anything is not good for my eyes. I have the M1 14" and thinking about upgrading to the 16" M3. Bestbuy has it on sale now due to the M4 about to drop next month

For someone who is actually significantly mobile with their laptop (walking around with it), the 14 is still a lot better. The 16 is just way too big to fit in a college environment IMO.
