Never use plate locks when bench pressing! That way you can tilt and slide the plates off the bar if this happens Bench pressing more weight than you can handle without any safeties is actually deadly...

When not using v high eryweight you should be able to roll the barbell to your hip and just sit up and be good. Might pinch your junk which is painful but at least you'll get out
