Great video and congratulations on getting an Impact. IMO both the Drumbrute Impact and the OG are both under-rated drum machines for what they are capable of. I had the OG and I regret selling it when I needed cash funds. Using the individual outputs and tuning each sound really makes a big difference once you get used to it. I think I'll be on the lookout for a Impact or maybe the OG if I can find a secondhand one

Arturia has great sequencers. Their Beatstep Pro (maybe the Keystep Pro too?) will also let you do this.

But Ableton and M4L has randomizers as MIDI effects which you could use to play your samples from the Amen if i am not mistaken. So what is the benefit of using the external DBI as a midi controller to randomize?

Isn't there a thing that exist as a effects tool box? If not... why? Got a fair bit of little things that makes fun sounds and they all have various sequencers, delays, reverb, stutter and other effects that change the sound in fun ways but I kinda wish I have a central console that did all those things only. Is there such a thing?

The Drumbrute sends its midi. Hence you can record it into Ableton and route it through any drum machine.

just open up a drumset (rack) in Ableton and set the midi in on that channel to the midi out channel of your drum machine (works also with the Behringer RD-9 f.e.) you might need to "switch" around the drum samples to trigger exactly the sounds you want but it is generally already dialed in fairly good. you can of course create your custom drumrack as well in Ableton that you then want to trigger with your machine. that can include whatever samples you want to use. you can of course also make a track for each drum sound and set the midi in the same way as before but you will be able to easily process the sounds with dedicated FX for each sound.

something i cant figure out with the random knob, i know you can set per track, or global, but the problem i cant figure out, you need at least one step enabled on the sequencer, or else it wont trigger on that track. ex- if i dont place one step for the BD on the pattern, the random can be at 99%, and it wont activate the random function on the BD. until you put a step down.

Like 5:29I'm remapping the incoming notes to individual notes of the samples. I'm pretty sure you can do the same in FL Studio

you can do the same thing with your behringer drum machine. I can just use my RD-9 and load up another drumset in ableton and just play, trigger, and sequence it with the drum machine.

The Drumbrute's interface is generating the ramdom notes, based on its patterns. 1) there is the random know and 2) the step/repeat function is adding additional value. Out of this, the Drumbrute is generating midi-data that I'm mapping to my Amen-sampler

It got no affects , like Roland's so im still leaning towards tr6s . Sorry .. I have cheap stuff so im going treat myself ( and be skint ) .. and I can mess around on korgs beat and monologue .. with my tro8 boutique .. to get this so im needing sampling capability's as cheap as possible .with modern sounds .. it's still nice but I'm pure hands on also so I wouldn't do it justice .

word on the street is, that there is a Zoom stereo multi-effect pedal out there that does not break the bank and can offer a good and usable variety of effects for your synths. (i just looked it up and it is the Zoom MS-CDR70 for around 100euro) maybe you can find a used one... good luck and have fun.
