Thank you for watching and your feedback is appreciated. The point of the video really was to see real world differences. When looking at the intake increases, we can really on focus on the 100-200kph figures as there are a number off factors at play when testing the 0-60 and the 1/4mile times Grip being the main one. When you do acceleration tests on a "normal" road you can only use in gear acceleration which isn't influenced by grip. So in terms of a scientifically reliable test, we measured 100-200kmh. 0-60 and 1/4 mile is too dependent on grip for an accurate/reliable result when you're talking 10ths of a second potential gains. That aside you can see the increase made to the 100-200kph times and the terminal speed of the 1/4mile time if this test was carried out at drag strip with reliable grip the results of the 0-60 and 1/4mile times would be dramatically different too. The Eventuri is 58% better flow over the stock airbox, which lead to us seeing increases of over 50bhp delta gains on the dyno when we carried out back to back testing with the APR stage 1.
@petetasker85993 жыл бұрын
But the ‘real world difference’ in the 100-200 kph times was 0.15 seconds! In a blind test you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between standard and Eventuri intakes. I’m sure this is a beautifully made bit of kit and it may well flow 58% better than the standard one but if the engine can’t use that extra air then it’s basically two and a half grands worth of engine dressing. Maybe at stage 2 or 3 it would make more gains.

@A Hussain I think you must of missed our video when we tested the intake back to back on the Dyno. We experience a considerable gain with the Eventuri intake installed in combination with the APR stage 1.I'm struggling to see which part "isn't true"? We could sit here and talk about the effects of ambient conditions all day long, but we reported it as it is. The APR stage 1 is limited on launch in 1st and 2nd gear due to an issue we had with the Differential in the RS6, we covered that in a previous video too. So the gains from the 0-60 were not going to be seen, in turn this has had an over all effect on the 1/4 mile time.
@Famous_Flavours3 жыл бұрын
@@petetasker8599 exactly! Would be good to see the dragy slips to see where that 0.15 difference happened. Literally one average gear change could result in that time difference. Tbh this proves the intake is a waste of time apart from sound

@@awesomecars1 The HP does NOT show up in your testing. The tune made a huge difference, but adding the intake did NOT help much at all. It doesn't add 50 hp over the tuned setup (not possible by the testing numbers). The intake only increased the trap speed by 1 mph (equates to 10hp at best) in the 1/4 mile. 50 hp would add at least 5-6 mph to the 1/4 mile trap speed on a car of that weight. Also, dynos don't tell you the real story. It's the track. It's very easy to play tricks with the dyno to show big gains (are they SAE or STD, any tuniing added for the intake, etc..?) In conclusion, the drag testing (trap speed numbes to be specific - which really show hp gains) do not support much of a power increase over the tune only setup.

We made a video not too long ago when we tested this back to back on the dyno, We understand the frustration from the comments but as we mentioned the power is there and because the car is limited to protect the gearbox as we've already broken it once the 0-60 and 1/4 would not be affected by much the difference is in the 100-200kph and how the power is through the REV range. Our customer's are welcome to come down and experience it for themselves :)

I like it but here's my thoughts: It's obvious this format works, anyone can see that from watching CarWow's content, however the thing that makes CarWow successful is Matt's cheeky attitude and the excitement of other guests (Yanni) - With 100% respect, I just don't think you guys get excited enough to make the video thoroughly entertaining. It's great to see the cars and the tech, but for vids to get loads of views, the audience needs to be entertained by the personalities involved. Another interesting feature would be to use digital magic to do a comparison (drag race) of the cars to give a real world, comparative indication of the changes and not just the numbers. That's my take.
