@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Thats true the handwarmers do use more fluid! I've kept a fuel canister in my camping bag for emergencies just incase I need to start a fire or something, the double seal keeps the fuel from evaporating for a really long time! @@theDmama exactly why they are a must have. I’ve herd the fluid warmers are better than the battery ones. They are warmer and last longer apparently do u know anything about that ?
@theDmama
@theDmama 2 жыл бұрын
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I feel like it depends on the application, the fluid ones are great for the outdoors or when youre walking somewhere in the snow and they can be used with other fluids like alcohol if you are in a pinch. I have a 6 and 12 hr warmer and I've noticed the 6hr one heats up alot warmer than the 12 hour one, they both use the same size catalyst so it might just be because the 6hr one doesn't need to heat up as much metal as the 12 hr warmer. The only application i feel where the fluid warmer isn't good is if youre trying to sleep with it, the way these handwarmers catalyze the fluid really makes my nose burn and eyes itch when I keep it under the blankets, in that sense I would go for electric and just hook it up to a portable battery or something

I have one and love it. For me, it seems to fill up a stock Zippo just about perfectly, not sure how it would fill a Cotton Bacon filled Zippo, but regardless a great tool to have. I took the tools off mine, I figured the flint holder would be chintzy, but as you said, I guess it isn't. Might have to get a few more... haha, great vid!

Haha yeah mine. I’ve always used the flint holder. I was always worried it would break. Never did. I say 4 years in the video for some reason lol probably closer to 6-7. But the only one I ever carried never broke in all that time. Also the screw tool is stamped zippo on it. So that’s kinda cool to have on the key chain.

Hi, I have the petrol canister, since winter 2013. I don't use it much, but when I have to be away from home for a few days, it's really convenient, and I couldn't do without it anymore. This is watertight. Instead of carrying the can with you, you bring this small container, which is not bulky and ensures you many ignitions, with our zippo.

I wish I knew about these in the late 2000s when I worked in Russia. Back then, I would stuff two hand warmers in my winter jacket during verification visits and they would run out just before lunch. I always felt silly having to bring in a full size can to refill at lunch to get through the rest of the day. This small sized re-filler would have been much more convenient.

Cool looking container. I usually fill my Zippo before I leave the house if I'm going to be anywhere for any length of time but I'm always home before my Zippo runs out of fluid. If that wasn't the case, if I was going camping for 2 weeks which never happens, I'd probably throw a 5 ounce can of fluid in my car to be covered if I ran out, and that's what I'd end up doing, even though the can doesn't have the " cool factor " of the canister. Well, if I bought one, it wouldn't be the first time I bought something I didn't actually need. Let me think about it ...

I'd get one but it's too expensive for my pockets right now. If I'm in a pinch (never ran out outside my house so far) I'm gonna buy a 50 cent or 1 buck lighter or even matches since they're cheap as hell (I got a packet of 10 boxes x42 matches for around 50 cents, unreal deal). It is indeed a really useful thing especially if you use a Zippo everyday, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't look like 15 bucks to me right now. I'm gonna get one or two in the future for sure tho. Also 125ml (4oz?) of fuel is around 3.50 bucks on kiosks and you know how it is, you can never have too much fuel with Zippos lol

@John Devlin Wished I was living in the US, I can only dream of 2 bucks for Zippo brand fuel (or for any fuel at all right now lol). Good thing medicinal benzene can be used as fuel if it gets to that point

In west EU it's €6,- for a normal 125ml Zippo fluid canister. A little bit cheaper in bulk. I use benzene nowadays. €2,47 a 1L bottle (that's €6x8 125ml cans). Sorry Zippo 😮‍💨 but it looks the same, smells the same, burns the same.

I have a few of these fuel canisters. The first one works fine and has the most use. I opened a second to do some testing with zippos hand warmers and it would leak fuel when fully tightened down, found out the gasket would not engage. For reference the first one has 180 degrees of felt contact with the gasket when tightening down. On the second it looks like either the threading cut into the outer shell was not enough, or the gasket is too thin. Because of this it never engaged the gasket and the gas can evaporate out between the threads (noticed when can was wet to the touch and smelled of gas when on my pack and the unit was still tightened down). I recently opened my third one to see if it has the problem, and it is in between, 30 degrees of gasket contact before threads bottom out, hopefully that is enough to not loosen up and leak. TLDR: shell threads may not be cut low enough which impacts the ring portions capability to fully seat the gasket on some units.
