I was blown away at how they were able to really capture the daily Chicano humor. At first I was like “these guys play too much” then I hung out with my family and all we did was crack each other up. Made me really appreciate that part of what makes us unique. This review 13/10 Orales. Btw Gentefied was rough. It makes This Foo look like Shakespeare.

I like this show. It's way more relatable than a lot of other shows. I grew up and went to college but some of my cousins went to a different state institution so I can relate to the main character's relationship. My wife's grandma be loading up on the Charmin too, which had us rolling.

As a Chicano Tejano this show definitely hits home for me. Growing up with an overbearing mother wondering aimlessly in life not knowing what to do. I can definitely relate to Julio. I agree the first season is pretty much perfect 10/10 orales. The second season while still good doesn’t hold up well due to the some of the side stories needed to flesh out the other characters. I will say the episode of the mom becoming a maid to the old lady who she hit with her car is my favorite that had me and my mom dying watching it😂

Season 1 was much ligh hearted and witty, and while season 2 has its same moments, it was much more limited and more heavy than season 1, tho it showed how that culture tries to shove those moments under the rug, it did a good job at showing the other side of their lives. Hopefully season 3 goes back to some more light hearted moments

One of my buddies grew up in San Bernardino told me about how cholos getting out of jail and meeting up with their girls at punk shows in some little hole in the wall places or at house shows.
