It's way better than current fighting games. The only modern games that are kinda similar (still a step bellow imo), those are the arcsystem games in general. SF6 seems to be close to that arcsystem level regarding animations, but I think we need to see more

I know Makoto is a pain in the ass in this game but her fast movements, pure strikes and her impactful supers in SF4 make her seem like a really cool character.

Oh, she's not a pain in the ass in 3rd strike. I don't think so. Her privilege comes in risky but rewarding damage output. Similar to Akuma in that regard. Pain in the ass is more along the lines of Chun Li and Yun who punish you for playing the game at all. Unless you enjoy parrying a fuckload of multihits. Good fuckin luck. I think Makoto is satisfying as hell. The right reads result in satisfying combos and meaty hits. Dopamine inducing as fuck. I like to compare her to Roy in Smash Ultimate. Fast, strong, angry, and honest.

And she is a cool character and DESERVES to return for Street Fighter VI. Same with characters like Dudley and C. Viper characters we haven’t really seen since Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3

I think she is the coolest female character in the whole series. Chun-Li and Cammy are iconic, but they are around for so long, it kinda got played out. Now Makoto had everything to be another gender swap of Ryu, but she has tons of personality, very cool animations, every attack has a lot of impact, etc.. She is so goddamn cool. I am biased because I like the "heavy hitter" stereotype, no fancy fireballs or other magical stuff, just fists and kicks

Bro. THE ONLINE WARRIOR?!?! This is how I found you Max. Me and my 3 bros were all into fighting games. SF, MvC2, etc so I’ve always been around them and good at them too. MK2 and KI were my first fighting games. SFlV was out and I was lookin up something on it and saw your first online warrior. It got me and my younger bro into 3rd strike & your channel (maining Sean and Ken btw). Since then, For years we’ve played countless fighting games together like 3rd strike, KI, all MK’s, etc. and kept up with your channelI rambled on longer than I thought but seeing this just brought up so many memories from my middle school days. Just wanted to say thanks Max. You and Benny both made great content together that inspired me and my bro to really get good and enjoy fighting games on a different level. Such good fuckin memories. started my FGC journey with SFV, moving on to 6 but I'm stil learning 3rd strike. It's so cool to me that a game from 1999 is still just as hype today. The crazy thing is people are still sharing new tech and there's a really active community. I see people say "is X game dead" and I think the answer is, no FG that's good is ever dead, as long as they have a group of passionate players it will attract new players. I started playing 3rd strike in 2021, 2 decades after it's release. 3rd strike is forever.

A good Chun Li will always keep people on edge and force them into their A-game, no doubt... But a good Makoto? She will fold you into a pretzel if you so much as blink, because her fists and kicks hurt _real_ bad real fast.

Okay, that Alex went for that twice, is there some Stun Gun Headbutt timing that actually beats out aegis? He just had SA2 in previous and later rounds, so he had to have been going for some bizzare aegis tech with SA3, but I've never seen it before.

10:15 juggling Alex is a real nuisance. The way most uriens do it is (if they have a bar) they opt to medium headbutt after launcher instead of the normal m tackle. You can plant light aegis when you land and charge a hard kneedrop during the aegis to put Alex in a real awkward spot between you and the mirror. No hard charging required and works on quick rise

What I love about watching Third Strike is the abscense of long ass combos. Sure the execution etc. is impressive in other Fighting Games, but the back and forth in Third Strike is so much more engaging as a Viewer in my opinion. Also you can watch the Game and just understand it. Ryu punched Makoto more than Makoto punched Ryu. So Ryu wins. Easy but still entertaining.

I love using Tanden Renki for Makoto, because it will scare newbs, allowing me to chain grab. And when going against pros, it baits them so I can parry and punish. Not to mention making people shit their pants when I buffer it during a parry.
