I was JUST hearing once again about how she can of course be good but she's just been outclassed and is more niche for high damage numbers. But I love her and at least levelled her to like 80, I just need an excuse to commit some resources to her kit. This will be my excuse! Plus to be fair if she's outclassed by Furina for example, it's nice to have a version 2.0 if I want that same niche in both sides of the abyss or in the theatre.

BTW most important when using mona in your rotation, use her skill, then swap to other units do your thing, then swap back into mona and catch her particles in her burst animation. Trust me this will save you alot of ER on her builds

She is insane with Mualani. I have a huge roster of characters, but after a few experimentations, Mualani + Mona is by far the most comfortable team I have for a huge damage without too much set up. The team consists of Mualani - Mona - Kazuha/Anemo Support - Xiangling/Thoma/Dehya (I personally use Xiangling as I have her at C6 so her Pyro application lasts longer) I slapped Mona with a 4pc Instructor Set, stats don't matter as long as the Sands is ER. Prototype Amber for the only source of healing. She's also at C3 as her C1 buffs Vaporize reactions too. Not to mention the Hydro Resonance helps with the damage as well. Mualani hits 400k-600k in my Floor 12 runs at C0 and with the event catalyst. Don't sleep on your Monas. I'm still using her a lot even when I own a C4 Furina.

Mona really loves me coz she was my first ever 5 star who I got from the beginner's wish, and now I have her at C5. If I choose her from a free 5 star selector, that's gonna be my first ever C6 5 star. I used to love playing her - first as a carry and then as a support, especially for Ayaka and HuTao, but haven't used her since Furina came out. Glad to know that she can still be useful

Honestly I'm not surprised that she works well with Mualani - I've been using her in a C6 Nilou team, so, another HP-scaling forward vape carry with tremendous frontload, and it works like a charm

Awesome guide for Mona. Also, double hydro Raiden doesn't mind having Mona as one of the hydro units since Raiden is also a front-loaded DPS, who also resolves some of the ER issues Mona might have when not running 4Emblem. Side-note for Mona C4: giving 15% CR (to both on field and off field attacks) can be huge for front-loaded damage. Mona C4 is going to be one of the more common characters to have C4, as a result of being on the standard banner.

Mona's my #1- I put so much into her (my first lv.90 & triple crowned). And for a time she was even my Hydro DPS (cause that's what you do with your fave.) Meta or not, her buff has been very reliable. Lately I've been using her to buff my Wanderer (because I can.) I do wish Hoyo were willing to fix or make alternative versions for their older characters, because Mona's kit does have hiccups I'd like to see improved. The length of her buff is one, obviously. But I am most critical of how her C6 doesn't contribute much to her kit other than slightly improving her as a Hydro DPS. I'd rather they have leaned more into her Burst DMG or increasing the buff time. Little things like that.

Her burst is a debuff btw. It is factored after the elemental damage bonuses are applied to the damage formula since x enemy takes damage vs buff gives x damage the key word here is TAKES DAMAGE which = debuff on hoyo standards. This is why when you pair her up with furina the damage ceiling is off the charts.

Started the game with only 5 Account Rerolls to pull her, then a month later on my first 30 Intertwined Fate Pulls I pulled her C1, now 8ish months later even though I still don't have Jean/Deyha I spent the 5 Star Selector on her C2 because she remains as my Main On-Field on a several of teams. That first banner I pulled on being Raiden's so basically the whole time I've never had to worry about Mona's ER either.

I like running Mualani/Nahida/Dehya/Mona. You can actually do your preparation setup for Mualani in the right order to let Mona forward Vape her burst. Since Mona's burst is extremely strong if you run her as damage, the slight loss of buffs to Mualani is made up for by the fact you simply have 1.5 DPS characters at once, and the second one takes up almost no field time because all of her damage comes in a single button. The Hydro resonance from running Mona buffs both Mualani and Dehya in this team, and Nahida's team-wide EM buff helps Mualani and Mona's stat balancing needs a lot by not making them run much or any of their own EM for the forward Vape. The easing up on stat constraints lets both of them invest more into crit and their main damage stat (plus ER for Mona) to also make up for the lower raw support buffs from Mona's slot.

You forgot to mention instructor and exile, they're also very worthy artifact options. And prototype Amber can turn her into a pretty good pseudo healer if you combo it with a healing bonus circlet.

Thanks for the updated Mona guide! I have grown quite fond of her character over the nearly 2 years I've been playing. Plus, I enjoy your content! I will definitely go to Tacter and make a few comments; whatever it takes to throw my hat in the ring for Xilonen. I am very interested in her, but I am also needing to save those primos for Mauvika when she hits the banners. Currently, I have 10 wishes total. I don't know if this makes sense for your tacter content, but I am looking for some sage advice on how to pick the relevant pieces from my Instructor set for leveling up. I remember you said in one of your past artifact guides that the 4* Instructor set is definitely worth investing in...at least a few pieces. I had previously used all of mine to level up other 5* sets. But since then, I've let Instructor pieces build up in my inventory. Now my artifact inventory is near max limits, and every time I sit down to think about what pieces to level and which pieces should be fed into others, my eyes glaze over. I feel like this could be a nice little topic to explore on your Tacter page. Thanks for all the fun genshin content!

13:06 im not exactly sure what he means, to my knowledge, there absolutely is a visual indicator for whether or not you got your swirl off properly in aggravate. it's when the text saying "swirl" appears onscreen. dendro cannot be swirled, so if it says "swirl" at all on the screen, it was an electro or quicken swirl, which is what you want

Love a good oppertunity to preach Mona, imo she's one of the Safest Characters you could possibly build as she's effectively immune to power creep. Mona's kit is so simple and simply good enough that it works with such a expansive range of the game's characters/teams, and as a debuffer her burst is an increase that stacks with other characters' buffs instead of competing. Case in point even Furina who's argued as a better Mona 1) doesn't invalidate Mona's debuff and 2) can actually work together with her. (Ntm having 2 characters that fill a similar/same role isn't a bad thing for something like Imaginarium Theatre where you're gonna need multiple teams) Not just saying this as a Mona Main either, I whole heartedly believe Mona will always have a solid use and even when she seems to start "falling off" the next new DPS Hotness like Arle will appear for her to rise to the occasion. As more Power Creep DPS Characters appear she'll always be there as a prebuilt stabilizing pillar you can plug into the team and go even if she isn't a permanent partner.

Don't forget Navia with Mona. Navia is so frontloaded you can fit 2 Navia skills during Mona's ult window and I genuinely prefer her over Furina in this team

I actually use Mona and Furina together in my Lyney Vape team, and it seems to work great! I find that I get bigger numbers and faster clears using Mona than I do even with a VV kazuha.

Facts, I was about to write my own comment. Imo Mona is one of the few characters safe from Power Creep cause even Furina who's argued as a better Mona can 1) work with her and 2) neither invalidate the other. @@mq8337 I wouldn't worry about it, Kazuha is still really strong and a lot of people will say that Lyney's best team is with Kazuha in, he's also basically a must for Lyney mono-pyro teams so I definitely wouldn't get down about it. I just wanted to share that I've had a lot of success with Mona in Lyney teams too :)

Finally i have found someone talking how good mona is in the Arlecchino team! It is so fun and easy to use! I am using a similar team, but sucrose on VV instead of bennet, works like a dream and has a bit of grooping and staggering :D

At long last, the guide I've been waiting almost a year to be able to watch! I am a bit sad that you're sleeping on her damage potential so much (that Burst multiplier is nothing to sniff at if you've been able to build some decent crit and attack stats), and didn't mention that attack goblets are just as viable as hydro damage bonus in most cases because she gets a lot of hydro damage% from building ER... and you didn't talk about her sprint and taunt being useful in the overworld, which is why she's been the first slot of my overworld team for the entirety of the 2 years I've been playing! I always loved that you usually mention overworld utility as part of your closing thoughts - so few creators think to talk about relevance there, even though it's where we probably spend the majority of our time in the game. But seeing the teams you suggested was VERY interesting, and Arlecchino being one of the best options legitimately makes me a lot more interested in potentially pulling for her on her rerun 😂 because god I would love to be able to use Mona in the Abyss, after how long I've had her and how much I've invested.

the problem with mona is candace heavily competes with her in the teams she would be great in. the fact that candace typically buffs an entire dps window, im not sure if mona is ever better than her without thrilling tales.

Nice video. I like that you are emphasizing that those teams are really good, even if not necessarily the most optimal. In a game where most players dont have all the characters that has a lot of value. Especially if you like a "worse" character more. Personally I really like Mona as a character but I struggle to put her into teams because I really dislike playing without a healer, so she often loses her spot in my teams to Barbara or Kokomi. I also wish the burst would last a bit longer as I dont enjoy the short burst windows and it would be cool if their would be some sick animation when her burst bubble explodes. The Arlecchino team looks neat though I will try that and didnt try the Mualani combination yet but that seems good.

I'm a super casual player. Only one day to actually play long every week. So I just casually farm stuff whenever I got a little time, like the daily commute, mobile gamer because too busy... And I did not expect to actually have enough resources to build a lot of different characters. I mean, I have more than half of all of my characters fully built... I'm f2p so not that many characters, but still. Of course, I still don't know how to use most of them, I just copied whatever I get from the internet... just like this video teaching how to build Mona... I really appreciate this, btw. What I really want when playing is to finish quests, but I'm too busy to do them... Using up the daily resin is what I've just been doing most of the time and I fully built a lot of characters just by doing that... of course not triple crowned, just until talent lvl9...

My new favorite team is Arlecchino, Yelan, Mona C1 (thrilling tales and noblesse oblige) and Layla C4. Arlecchino gets a lot of buffs, vaporizes, and melts off. Also, everyone gets more HP from hydro resonance. You can substitute Layla for either Diona or Zhongli if you have them.

Mona is really awesome as she can flex for almost any team by equipping _Noblesse, Tenacity, Deepwood, Instructor..._ She can even be the solo healer for Furina teams with a R5 *Prototype Amber,* while even maxing the _Song of Days Past_ buff! *Hydro Ressonance* and the ability to read *Thrilling Tales* for the team just make her that much more of a candidate for that last slot on a ton of teams. *Jack of all trades?*

I fully build my Mona back in the days of Morgana team supremacy, expecting that I would get Ganyu and have a team ready for her. Then I never got Ganyu and never once used Mona. It feels bad to see a level 90 character living on the bench, so I'm glad to see your updated team suggestions for her!

Idk why people don't use Mona with Arlecchino, she is the easiest character to build in those team comps. Give her 3* weapon, tenacity set with a lot of ER on every piece (actually main stats don't matter lol) and u ready to go. Double hydro or even classic showcase team with Kazu works amazing. Now since I got Mualani I play her alongside Mona, Instructor Dehya, Nahida. Hydro resonance, buffing, she can use almost whatever weapon she want since Mualani don't care about TTOD atk bufff. Love to see older characters getting better :)

Absolutely fantastic guide. It's such a shame that the Morgana archetype has fallen off as hard as it has, but considering Hoyoverse seems committed to keeping Cryo in the basement, it's not a surprise, either. Hell, Wriothesley didn't even warrant a mention as a DPS alternative. I get it, since no Cryo team is top S-tier biggest-numbers meta (especially Freeze) but it makes me so sad.

Mona is my favorite Standard 5star. Her design and her kit is very pleasing and you can play her any role. High constellation Mona DPS is so fun (i've only ever seen them in YT it's bc i only have 1 copy of Mona and it was from the free 5star event XD)

She was my first 5* from the fixed banner. But even 2 years later she's still level 20. Maybe I'll start using her when I get Ganyu and Venti. These two are the characters I want the most right now. I'm waiting for their next banner.

From what I hear, Venti works surprisingly well with a Kinich, Bennett, Xiangling comp, since Kinich's aoe is able to hit everything Venti gathers. As for Ganyu, I would expect to see her in Lantern Rite as part of a Liuye themed Chronicled Wish. If so, you should probably get her while you have the chance. I fully expect cryo to be buffed when the Snezhnaya region is released sometime next year.

The problem with ayaka freeze is not that it's "fallen off". The damage it does is fine, more than strong enough to clear the abyss. It's just hard to play. Ayaka has energy issues, rotations are pretty strict, positioning and timing are crucial and not understanding enemy attack patterns can just screw you over massively. Also, swirling and absorbing pyro or electro off of an enemy with your anemo unit can be really detrimental.

I'm not sure why it's not mentioned but c4 gives a nice crit rate buff also so if you're at c3 you might consider getting it from the selector

Firstly, finally someone who uses her og costume, all of them are better than the censored versions we got, it's enough that they are forced in the cutscenes... I use my Mona as a pseudo healer + buffer She is 90 with 9/9/10 talents She's got 4p Noblesse (better than Millelith imo unless you use a shielder i guess, i don't like using shields) with ER sands, HP goblet and Healing Bonus Circlet and uses P. Amber ofc I have around 250% ER so she can use her burst all the time 20% atk, her Omen buff and a pretty decent party heal to the point she can be used as the only healer I use her all the time, with Navia, Arlecchino, Raiden, in freeze if i feel like playing it, i used her instead of XQ in the hyperbloom team etc. She can work as cope main dps at C2, not the best but it's fun and she is on the field She also does have her meme vape setup but that is unusable in normal gameplay and requires bennett.. Mona has it all, amazing character, never stopped using her

Tbh I want her so bad that I'll be happy to lose all my 50/50 for her.. she's harder to pull than any other standard character excluding tignhnari ofc. You can always get any character you want in a special banner but not a certain Mona in a standard one.. happy to see a new update of her. Kudos bro

Over the years i got c6 mona with free wishes from the standard banner and all my lost 50/50s. So i decided to build her and try every single combo you can imagine. My fave team for mona is a hyperbloom mona team with dream set kuki, deep woods traveler/nahida and c4 hp build kirara (for the dendro resonance). Its a pretty good team considering they are 4 stars and the fact that you get the traveler for free if you dont have nahida. Also, rotations are not strict. My mona runs a eof set, r5 widsith, with an energy sands and an atk goblet. Atk goblet is better than elemental goblet due to her passive of converting ER to elemental dmg bonus. The trick is to have over 200 ER to make up for the elemental goblet, in addition it will help with the eof set to maximize her burts dmg.

Freeze teams lasting longer on the omen buff is not a bug - poise damage breaks the Omen (even if does no actual damage i.e. Hu Tao using her skill). Frozen targets are immune to poise damage (meaning, you can’t trigger any if their hurt animations), so everything is working like it should - no poise damage = no bubble pop.

Thank you for this, I actually pulled Mualani so I could make the Mona I just picked from the selector work ! Not having Mona for 4 years was a pain but I'm happy she has great teams now I don't have Emilie so I'm using Kazuha instead, but the VV short uptime doesn't match well with Mona short uptime. Hopefully Xilonen will be able to help

Perfect, I chose Mona as my free 5 star because I think I actually got all other characters from standard but not Mona. I have C1 Diluc, C2 Jean, C2 Qiqi, C0 tighnari, C0 dehya and C0 Keqing. But no Mona. So I finally have Mona. And she should make a splendid addition to my team making strategy. But rn farming the materials for wanderer cause I need him to be at least level 80 before I’m comfortable taking him out in the world level 9.
