Got myself into riding a couple of years ago with a Landyachtz Tugboat which I used to cruise about in but stopped riding due to some life changing stuff happening. Fast forward to now and I decided to get back into it so I went ahead and ordered a Loaded Dervish Sama with Paris V3 180mm, 85mm Caguama wheels and Zealous bearings off of Muirskate. It should arrive on Thursday, I can't wait!

I've had my cruise for 11 years and I love it 💜 But I bought a longboard last week cause it was only $50 and it's so much fun. I prefer the cruiser because I cruise all around the city and there's parts where you just can't cruise so i'd rather be carrying the cruiser than the longboard
@harrymarshall78993 жыл бұрын
These are good points but skating around crowded or tight urban areas is just waaaay easier on a cruiser I like to think a longboard is more for handling the big downhill stuff, they're a little bulky and unweildy for cruising or commuting
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
Good points, but it depends on where you live for commuting. Some places aren’t as densely packed and some have longer commutes so it all depends on your specific circumstance

True is safer high speed ,and speed record wasn't on a short board , longboard is a beast if u like speed.😏I got cruiser boards too but my go to boards are my longboards always because I love the hills in Vegas.

Hi, I bought a dinghy blunt, I find the wheels too small and finally maybe a little big to be a little fun and transportable thing (maybe I should have taken a classic, or 26 inch) Today I intend to change the wheels (put plow king if it goes without raisers, or 69mm roundhouse) and buy a longboard. I like the principle of being very low, but I would also like something agile in an unpopulated city, I hesitate between the drop cat 38, the Zenith AB or AZ, the pantheon ember/ or pranayama, and the tan tien. The tan tien because I tell myself that + it has a kicktail and it must be possible to go up or down sidewalks easily. + tighten turns by lifting the front with the kicktail. + there are cheaper used ones for sale, 1h30 from my house. - but it looks high and I'm afraid I don't feel comfortable. The drop cat + I just climbed on it when stationary in a store and I really liked the rocker, this feeling of well planting his feet, of being like in a very low cradles from the ground. It's the one that pleases me the most of impression, of feeling - I believe that it is not possible to go up or down a step without a kicktail. And I don't know if he's nimble or not. I'm not talking about the other boards because I don't think you know them. But what would you advise me? (I want to use my board like à cruiser, commute, longboard in country, i want à smooth stuff, and agile, maneuverable)
@dark6.6E-343 жыл бұрын
Biased video! Each board has its purpose that it reaches by design. &Cruisers are actually the versatile boards at the cost of riding ease: big wheels for comfort, light weight & small for portability, tail for tricks, and bottom mount providing wider turning adjustability Enjoy carrying your 1 meter 3+ kg board on public transport or trips.
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
my guy, I also made a video on why you should get a cruiser over a longboard....it was a 2 part video series..the vid was supposed to be biased haha!
@dark6.6E-343 жыл бұрын
@@OgdenSikel Ok I saw it now! You know the difference But that is a horrible way of helping someone new find his fit. Instead of making 2 biased videos each that tempt the viewer into buying the respective board Why not make 1 non-biased video presenting the pros and cons of each successively to allow the viewer to decide for himself? Or try to link the videos via description, playlist, or titling them as part 1&2
@dark6.6E-343 жыл бұрын
@@OgdenSikel Also since both videos are biased there were some contradictions with the presented ideas in the longboard one you stressed over the idea that longboards are easier and recommended for beginners in the cruiser one you said that the difference in learning difficulty isn't that major
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
The most popular video on my channel is cruiser board vs longboard…which is a direct non biased video. But I implore you to watch the part 2 vid I made of that one because the original is quite old and my new one is much more engaging
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
I just make lots of videos on these topics because my viewers like it and I enjoy making them. Both boards are great and and I use both types daily. As for any contradictions, I really don’t care…those were my thoughts on the videos at the time and what I think based on my experiences…I don’t script my videos they are all off the top of my head so “errors” are bound to appear

Hey man, hope you reply, if you do I’ll sub 😳. I’m going to get my first skateboard soon. I want to cruise around my neighbourhood (3-10 minutes per route). Im young (12) so my mom doesn’t allow me to ride on the roads yet. My sidewalks are rough so thats the main reason I want a skateboard good for cruising. I’ll get a complete from my local skate shop. Which board would you recommend? Cruiser or longboard? (Penny board hiding in the back)
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
Hey bro, Welcome to the skate community!! If your sidewalks are rough as in having big gaps, and noticeable bumps, I might go with something like a longboard just because of the fact that your balance will be easier and you will be less likely to get thrown off your board going over giant cracks and such. Either could work for ya, but that's what I would recommend. Also a few other things since this is your first board: 1. Get a skate tool, they're pretty inexpensive and really help with board maintenance. 2. Make sure to get a name brand board. The quality difference is crazy (a skate shop should have all name brands so you should be good) 3. Be safe and take things one step at a time! Rushing into skating can increase risk of injury and make you feel discouraged, so take your time and get comfortable on your board. Have fun dude!!

@@OgdenSikel I have two types of sidewalks pavement near my area 1. its a greyish whiteish coloured sidewalk with pebbles integrated into it that you can see, they kinda have potholes but their small and not deep. Im estimating the gaps are a little under an inch. 2. Its a black sidewalk with pebbles integrated into it as well but you can’t really seem them. They have really small potholes and barely deep. Also some of my sidewalks might be slanted for some reason
