would like to add, if you don't buy a pro controller or any third party wireless controller, you could end up having a drifting stick. it reduces having your joycon ended up having a joycon drift. at home i use a 3rd party 8 bit do sn80 controller pro. but if im outside the house like inside the mall. i just use my regular joycon.

I just got the Pro nano for $55 . Best officially licensed controller Nintendo has made for the Switch . It's not as bulky as the Pro and its $15 cheaper . Plus the pro is still $70 and its 5 years old . But those joycons are $80 and I'll be nice and call them not as good . Why ? Why does the price go up and the quality down with these ?

That’s the real reason for getting a pro controller. Reduced wear on the built in controller. You can get a controller cheaper than a new unit.

What about rumble ? Thats one thing I do wish my Lite still had inside it . Using the lock pic in certain games like Skyrim is a pain without rumble.

The pro controller charges with the same cable as the switch/switch lite would be charged. There’s a charging port at the top of the controller! If you plan on ordering one use my link it really helps out the channel thank you 😊

It's definitely a better experience . The d-pad still sucks, but the analog sticks are more responsive, the triggers are less springy, and the buttons just mush so much better than the built in controls . I would recommend picking up a lightly used one if possible however because it's 5 years old and still $70 retail ... I don't pay full price for technology that dated, but to each his own .

The buttons on the lite also don't mash as well. It's almost like the imput is restricted when trying to push buttons simultaneously. Where controllers do not have this programming. This isn't an issue for alot of things but some things it's a massive issue(like some witcher sequences, mario maker 2 kaizo, dark souls imput mash, and a few others are impossible with the lite button wiring). It's fine for like 99% of games that people play but it's restrictive for the hardcore

@@stompingpeak2043 I honestly had way more input issues with the joycon than built in Lite controls. And If your going to play the games that they ported from the Wii U, the touchscreen is much easier to use than holding the separate joycon halfs in each hand to activate the joycon workaround . The games were designed to be played on that huge weird controller with the screen the Wii U had and the joycon motion sensors ain't all that . I really can't believe they charge $80 for Joycons....they are so bad . Plus the Pro is only $70 and doesn't have drift issue from having 2 different bt mac addresses for a single device and now there. It's good, but the pro nano is $55 not as bulky and the easily the best controller licensed by Nintendo for the Switch . Makes 0 sense, but $55 is fair . The Pro should be $50 and Nintendo should owe everyone $80 that bought a model with joycons, because if they didn't know there would be problems that's ignorant and irresponsible and if they did know the very obvious problem with the bt, it's evil .

Okay I recommend a controller if your switch is going to be docked, however a pro controller for a switch lite is just dumb for multiple reasons, case in point, nobody is going to use their switch lite for docked, the point of docking a switch is to watch it on TV, but you can't dock a switch lite because it doesn't work like that, not to mention you're getting less screen by just putting it on a charging stand. Also the "Pokémon is one of those games where you'd rather play it stationary" Pokémon has always been on hand held systems, it is a game to take on the go and play anywhere, what kind of logic is this? Have you ever played Pokémon on anything that isn't a switch? And your point about smash bros? the switch lite has all the functions of a pro controller, it's literally just a pro controller with a screen. If you're gonna complain about how to hold it then just get a grip case, which is significantly cheaper than a pro controller. If you want to complain about complex inputs then hey maybe it's harder for you to use those inputs on a switch lite, but it should be the same experience, especially with a grip case. And again, the further away the screen is, the harder it is to see it.
