I saved $50 from my paper route in 1964. I sold that in 2011 for $1,500 and built a tiny house in my back yard with the money. So I build a house for $50 in silver money. That 8'x12' house is still there and quite comfortable. Silver holds its value.

You can buy fractional Gold. 1/10th ounce, 1/4 oz, 1/2 Oz, etc etc. Just be aware that smaller fractional gold has a hell of a premium. You will pay more in premiums if you buy two "1/2 oz" gold coins than you will just buying a full 1oz. The premiums get higher with the smaller fraction. Personally, for me and me alone, I'd go no smaller than 1/4oz. Full ounce would be optimal.

Im a Christian, and what many Christians get wrong with Christs words in saying, "the love of money is the root of all evil" is that its not money itself, that is interchangable. Gold is rare because you can't mining offer then 3%/ year of all gold mined if you put buy pression, but that is not in case of silver. Silver can be mined 25%/year if suffer a buy pression, and will devalue your wealth because the entier economy can't grow with mor than 25%/ year. In conclusion, silver is not a good choise for store of value.
